“ Brand: Accessorize / Type: Hair accessory „
Accessorize are known for their really great accessories (hint is the name!). The price can be more expensive but the quality of their items are great. They don't break easily (like their cheap versions) & never leave green marks.
I wore this for part of a masquerade ball, but I can definitely reuse it for a summer wedding that I have coming up, and any other formal invitations I receive. It did cost me £20, which is a bit overpriced I feel, but as long as I ensure I reuse it, it's cost per wear can be worth the expensive price tag.
It felt comfortable against my head, easy to pop in. I wore my hear in a relaxed updo, and had the comb inserted around the back of my head and to the side. I have quite thin, soft hair and I did feel that the comb did move during the night, but a quick touch up and it was fine. If I had thicker hair, it would fit perfectly and not move. Next time I wear it, I will definitely back comb by hair to try and secure it more.
The comb is really lovely and my issues at securing it onto my head are a reflection of my hair type and application rather than against the comb itself. People with thin hair shouldn't be put off from buying this as it is really a great comb.
I bought this little silver/grey comb from Accessorize to wear for a wedding. It cost £20.00 which to be honest I thought it was quite expensive for a little hair decoration.
The comb is made from clear plastic so you don't notice it in your hair this is especially handy if your hair is dark. It's a reasonably sized comb at 5cm's x 15cm's so you can get a good grip when fixing it in your hair.
The decoration on the comb is a rose in the centre of a bow. Although its described as a rose it could easily be any flower really. It's obviously a flower but I wouldn't say it's obviously a rose.
The rose and bow are both made from Lurex, a metallic yarn, which has been woven into quite an open mesh. The mesh is quite stiff and the edges are tightly curled outlining the petals and bow.
The comb is also decorated with 12 very tiny grey feathers, these are on long thin stems so they stand above the other decoration. The feathers are not very visible on the photo Dooyoo have shown. If you have a problem with feathers these could easily be snipped out and you wouldn't notice. I personally like the feathers I like the way they move.
The decorated comb measures 19cm's x 8cm's. The Lurex decoration is nicely sewn on to a small silver satin strip across the back of the comb. It's done very neatly and feels secure.
As I said I bought this for a wedding and I'm pleased to say it didn't budge in my hair all afternoon and evening, despite some time on the dance floor. I wore it on the side of my hair. The assistant in the shop advised me to either back comb my hair or use plenty of hairspray to secure the comb. I personally backcombed my hair slightly then sprayed it and I found all that was needed was to firmly push the comb into my hair and it stayed put. I was worried about it slipping but as I said it stayed in place.
I loved the comb so much that I have also worn it to a party recently and I plan to wear it when Mark and I go racing in the summer. It's a fantastic little accessory that would look great not only with a formal outfit but also a nice summer dress too.
I would certainly recommend the Sin Rose and Lurex Hair comb. It's a bit on the expensive side to buy but it does make a nice accessory for your hair and adds a little something to your outfit. Obviously I wouldn't wear it to go shopping but I will get more use from it than I originally thought.
