      Dress

Alexon Black Ripple Shutter Dress I often buy new dresses during the sales and as they have to be something that will "do" me for several occasions, I usually stick to quite classic styles and makes. This one was bought specifically for quite a "posh" birthday party but has been worn on several occasions since. I am about 5'5" and the length of the dress, 103cm means that it comes just below my knees which is my preferred length of dress. The dress is described as being jersey but it definitely feels more slinky and silky than something I would imagine as being jersey. It is fully lined and as such is a heavy dress but because of the material it doesn't feel uncomfortable and the weight of the dress doesn't bother me. The dress is pleated from top to bottom and whilst it is close fitting it is also very forgiving especially if I wear it somewhere where I am going to eat a big meal! The pleats seem to cover any bumps and yet still create a nice sleek silhouette. Although the dress is sleeveless, the straps are relatively thick and so it doesn't feel too summery in the winter and similarly in the summer it doesn't look too much like a winter dress although when its hot, the dress is too heavy for me to wear as I feel a bit hot and constricted. The neckline is v and is low cut but remains classy with the diagonal pleating detail going down towards the main part of the dress. --Material...-- The dress is made of 92% Polyester 8% Elastane, so it's nice and comfortable to wear and a real bonus is that it is machine washable. As I have already said I have worn the dress on several occasions and after washing I have not noticed any deterioration of the fabric or style. Its great because it doesn't even need ironing but can be just hung on a coat hanger and just left to dry. --Price and availability...-- The RRP of the dress is £135 and it was available in the sale for £40 which I think is great value for a good quality dress up or dress down frock. --Verdict-- I have had a couple of items from this make and have always found them to be good quality and this dress was no exception. Comfortable to wear and in the sale a great price, I am sure it is something which is quite timeless and which I will wear over and over again. Thanks for reading Daniela xx
