Advantages: Well priced, pretty comfy, look great
Disadvantages: Very revealing lol
I actually picked these stunning hotpants up back in late 2011 but have only just had the confidence to actually wear them! I bought them mainly because they're amazing and really eye catching, but also because I knew they would act as inspiration to get the baby weight off as quickly as possible so I could fit into them without looking hideous! My plan really worked and whenever I craved chocolate I would just look at these beauties and I knew the chocolate wasn't worth it.
I paid £18 for these which I don't think is a bad price at all for some Topshop shorts, although if you are after a pair of shorts that are versatile and can be worn everyday casually to get your money's worth then I would not reccomend these, I have only worn them twice as it is important to wear them at the right occasions, eg clubbing - if you walked around town in them in the day time people would think you were either a bit mental or a stripper, lol.
The gold hotpants are described as lurex knicker shorts and they have the same design and shape as a pair of knickers would although they are obviously shorts. The waistband rests just below my hips and the leg holes rest on either side of my groin, so these aren't for the faint hearted and you need to be confident with your body to wear them.
The material of these shorts is quite unusual. It is 100 percent cotton however due to the gold sparkles the texture is quite scratchy, although not to the point of being uncomfortable. The material is stretchy and adjusted to my body shape well, and although the shorts are skin tight they don't feel uncomfortable, nor do they squeeze my thighs which is good because a lot of other of my tight shorts tend to do this.
Styling these shorts is quite easy - I find a bandeau, bralet, vest or crop top looks good with them and I usually make sure the top is quite plain to avoid the top clashing with the shorts. A pair of heels is essential with these and I wouldn't dream of wearing them with boots or flats. I have only worn these twice but both times I paired them with a white lace bralet and I got loads of compliments. If you are self concious of your legs you could wear tights or suspenders underneath but leggings are a no-no!
Sizes available are 6-16. The shorts are machine washable and wash well. I overall reccomend these if you want an eye catching pair of shorts that show your bum off!
Summary: I love them
