      ALLMYLOVE Black Drape Tank

Like most girls I love clothes, and one of my favourite everyday styles is the layered look. This Black Drape Tank is made by ALLMYLOVE, and I came across a selection of their items on the dangerously addictive website, www.my-wardrobe.com . The RRP was £40.00 which I thought was steep for a basic looking vest top by a brand I'd never heard of before, but I was able to buy it at a reduced price of £20.00 in the sale.

Product description: "Black cashmere blend demi-sheer tank top with a cowl style collar."

This top was only available in black, but it was exactly what I was looking for as I wanted a classic vest top that I could wear for any occasion. It is a simple piece that has a rather shapeless look to it, as it is not fitted to pull in at the waist, and instead flows down at the same width from the bust to the hips. I bought this is size S, which was recommended for UK size 10. The top is very loose fitting for a base layer piece, and this can look a bit odd, especially in the underarms where it can gape a little. It has a lovely cowl neckline which is a design feature that I really like, but I was surprised to see when I was wearing it that the neckline is very low cut and the drape falls down enough to be quite revealing. I think I may have been better off opting for the XS size due to the rather generous cut and loose fit of the top. It is fairly long and falls to my hips even though I am quite tall so I was really happy with this as a lot of the time I end up with shorter tops that barely even cover the waistband of my trousers.

To avoid showing off my bra (yes it's cut that low!) I tend to wear this top layered with other pieces of clothing. It is perfect to wear underneath a shirt or jumper, and I like to team it with a cute neck scarf and tight waist belt to pull it in and give a bit of shape to the garment. Because the top is black this makes it versatile and easy to wear, so it goes with practically everything I own and is great for mixing with trousers, skirts and cardigans.

The fabric is made of a blend of 90% micromodal and 10% cashmere, which is incredibly fine and lightweight. It is so comfortable to wear and feels deliciously soft and smooth against my skin. The label recommends to hand wash this item, but this is something I have chosen to ignore seeing as it's a fairly standard fine-knit jersey type fabric. I always wash on a cool setting of 30 degrees, and this works just fine to get the top clean and fresh again. The fabric is still in lovely condition and there are no signs of wear and tear even though I have washed it very frequently during the course of this year.

Overall I don't think that this top was worth the original price tag. It is a simple piece of clothing that goes really well with my day to day look, and I like that the luxurious feel of the fabric makes the plain design feel more stylish. However, the cut is ill fitting in places and because of how loose it is I would have been better off choosing a size smaller than what I usually wear. Comfortable and luxurious fabric, but it doesn't look good unless it's paired with the right outfit and accessories.
