This hoodie suits everyone, and I mean everyone, tall/short, fat/thin, male/female, young/old you name it it will probably look good on you. It is easy to wear and SO comfy, literally the softest thing I own, I have two myself and I wear them all the time. It doesn't matter what your style is, if you would never dream of wearing a hoodie out then get one for lounging around in the house for maximum comfort. Yes they are relatively expensive but they last a long time and look really good on, there are a lot of cheaper copies out there in other shops including topshop/topman but none of them compare to a real American Apparel hoodie. They come in a range of sizes and a lot of colours as well as different styles, I love the dappled affect ones as they give a softer colour. If your still in doubt just go and try one on, I can guarantee you will love it!
This is a very basic hoodie, it's not got any huge factors about it that make it individual and in my opinion, the brand name (American Apparel) is the main reason why the price is on the expensive side. The hoodie is zip-up hoodie, not a pull-on, which is handy as it allows it to be worn in a range of different weather and occasions, i also find the zip can make it a bit more feminine as i can have the hoodie undone to show off my cleaveage when i'm out in town or at a friends house. When i'm in the 'i don't care what i look like' mood, i can have it done up with the hood up when i'm jogging first thing in the morning or just wanting to snuggle up on the sofa. Even when it's done up it doesn't look too manly due to the fit, as it's quite clingy around my hips and it definetly isn't an oversized style hoodie. It comes a couple of inches below my waistline so it's not a boyfriend style (long), which i found a bit of a downside as i don't feel comfortable when wearing it with leggings unless i have a long vest or t shirt underneath.
The hoodie is available in a huge range of different colours so i'm sure there will be something for everyone. The colours are: Black, yellow, white, brown, orange, pink, red, purple, grey and green. The hoodie has a hood, which is neat and not the oversized type (i find that the hoods if oversized make the hoodie look manly, this one doesn't), the hoodie is adjustable and has 2 white drawstrings dangling out of it which rest on my chest. They're a thin shoe lace type material with little plastic tips to keep the ropey material from fraying at the ends. They do the job in keeping the hood up sturdily even during windy days.
The zip and zip trail is also white. The zip is metal and moves with ease and rarely sticks. It does all the way up to underneath the neck and keeps me warm both when it's done up and undone due to the lightweight but fleecey and soft material. It's gorgeous to the touch and feels warm and cosey when wearing it. It's made of 50% Polyester and 50% Cotton Fleece.
The hoodie has a 'kangaroo pocket', which can keep small items such as phones, walletts, ipods etc secure. I've put my iPod in the pocket countless times and it has kept it secure. It's quite deep which ensures the item can not fall out.
This hoodie is £40 and is available all over the internet. I got mine from Amazon and have had it for around a year now. It has lasted good apart from the drawstrings becoming slightly out of shape and the white paint on the zip chipping to expose the silver metal, although it's still soft and has not bobbled or shrunk. It is one of my favourite hoodies and is a really pratical item of clothing to have as it looks good with anything. Because it's so lightweight it's perfect for sunny but chilly days and although it's not really warm enough for winter when worn over a thin vest or t shirt, if worn with a jumper underneath it does add extra warmth. The fleecey material is cosey and makes wearing it that bit nicer.
Sizes available are XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL. I am a size 8 and got an XS which is slightly baggy on me but still has a feminine fit. This is a unisex top and as mentioned before the colours range from blue to pink. Overall this is a versatile hoodie that looks good, however it is not worth £40, identical hoodies are available from Topman for £22. I do love my hoodie but apart from the nice fit and fleecey feel, it's nothing special.
I have 4 american apparel hoodies and i honestly don't know what i would do without them! When i got my first one it cost me around £37, the prices have gone up due to VAT so they are now £40 as far as i know. They are the cult hoody, every other person has one!
My first one was the slate grey which i have now had for about a year and a half. Apart from some bobbling it is still in great condition and i do wear it daily! The only issue i have is that the hoody did use to be alot thicker. That is to be expected with its age tho.
My hoody is a size small and is very baggy, i am a girl so it is a boys size small. There are smaller sizes such as XS and XXS but i wanted it to be baggy :) Alot of people have asked me where it is from as so many people are wearing them these days but i think its because they are so reliable and come in such a variety of colours and match anything!
The hoody is 50% polyester which makes it really soft and comfortable to wear and great in the tumble dryer! The hoddy is really easy to wash on 30 degrees but i would recommend trying the white string as it has come out many of times in the wash which is abit time consuming!
