      Dress

      Amy Childs Lola dress
I am quite boring and whatever the occasion if I am going out I tend to wear a black knee length dress of some description. I had never bought any of the Amy Childs dresses but whilst browsing the website I was impressed to see that a lot of the dresses were knee length and body con in design and after perusing it for a while, decided on this one.
The dress is available in sizes 8 up to 16. I bought an 8 which was true to size and with the bit of stretch fitted me fine. I always like a bit of stretch because then I feel that I do get a really good fit. The material is:Outer: 60% Nylon, 35% Viscose, 5% Elastane, Lining: 100% Polyester, so this little bit of stretch is a good thing for a great fit.

It costs £65 and is available online on the Amy Childs website and also from other online sites. Lipsy also sell some of the Amy Childs dresses.

I bought the dress in black but it is also available in: Dusky Pink, Navy, Navy with navy lining, Black, Cream and Black/Nude. They all look nice but I tend to find black easiest to coordinate with accessories. However, because of the neckline, anything around the neck isn't necessary.

As mentioned before, the dress is knee length and has a scalloped hem. Mine has a black lining and then the outer part of the dress is black lace. Because of the black lining, this doesn't look overly lacey but almost like it's a pattern on the dress. The style of the lining means that it actually looks like a bandeau style of dress before the obvious lace part goes from the bodice up around the neckline and into a halter neck. This halter neck fastens at the back with a couple of buttons and then the lacey part of the back has a small cut out.
The dress states that it is hand wash only and should not be tumble dried, or dry cleaned. I actually put it in the washing machine on a delicate fabric wash and no spin and then hang it to dry and this seems to work fine, with no shrinkage or spoiling of the fabric.

WHAT I THINK OF THE DRESS...

The dress is well styled and I like the fact that with the lace it is quite vintage inspired. It is a great fit and when I walk doesn't ride up but rather stays on the knees so I am not permanently pulling down.
Easy to care for and comfortable to wear, I would recommend it and will certainly be looking at this range again.
      Thanks for reading
      Daniela xx
