“ Brand: Asda George „
I recently wanted to shop for some new lingerie and decided I just wanted something basic and comfortable. Although I usually get the majority of my underwear from M&S I had a voucher for Asda's George online and wanted to spend it. I have shopped at Asda in the past for underwear and had different experiences. I tend to find their sizes are not consistent and I normally take a size up in their knickers to what I do in every other store. After looking through the Asda knicker collection on their website I found this four pack of white brief shorts. They were only £4 for the pack which I thought was a great price so I purchased them.
As mentioned I have found that when I buy underwear from Asda I always have to get a size larger than my actual size. This was the case with these briefs. They have the standard sizing chart such as 10, 12, 14 etc. I bought a size up (a 12 instead of a 10) and they fit me perfectly. I'd advise others to be aware that the standard sizing might be different from other underwear suppliers.
These knickers are designed to sit quite low on the hips and to cover a lot of skin on the side of your hips. They sit on the top of your thigh and don't have any cutting curves but seem to sit on the shape of your body. They have a sooth elasticated top and strong stitching around the hem and gusset. They feel comfortable and breathable. They are a pack of pure white cotton knickers. You can actually buy packs of the same shape knickers in both black/white mix and a colour mix.
These are machine washable and seem to be holding up well to wear and washing. In the past I've had George underwear that hasn't lasted long and which has started to come apart very quickly. However, I think the quality of these knickers is quite good and I expect them to last for a while! I would definitely consider purchasing from Asda again following this purchase.
I bought these briefs in a rush as I needed some white briefs of this style and didn't have much time to shop around. This particular item came in a pack of 4 and was priced at £2.50 for the pack so I was happy to pay that amount as I normally pay far more than that for just a single pair of briefs. The pack that I purchased had 4 identical white shorts-style briefs, although I did note that there were other packs containing mixed patterns on them.
The underwear is 100% cotton and is really comfortable and breathable. The size is of a good fit and they come sized in regular clothing sizes (8,10, 12 etc). I much prefer this type of labelling as I find choosing a size out of Small, Medium or Large rather confusing so this made my purchase much easier. Adding to the comfort is that there is no tight elastic on the lower part of the briefs. Many briefs in the style of shorts have elastic around the legs which I find gets too tight and is uncomfortable, needing readjustment. I did not experience this problem at all with this particular pair.
I have only had this product for a couple of weeks so cannot testify to the longevity of the product but so far they have been very good value for money. They are not the most beautiful underwear available on the market, but as a comfortable, day to day brief they work very well for me. 3/5.
I wanted 100% cotton white knickers in the 'shorts' style. I found what I wanted in Asda- they were cheap too only £2.50 for 4 pairs. These briefs are part of their Smart Price range and come plainly packaged.
They don't look particularly 'short' like but lower on the waist, slightly squarer and more attractive than full briefs. Their shape does provide good coverage and are comfy. I like the shorts style because they don't have knicker elastic around the legs, only around the waist. The size ranges from 8/10 through to 20/22 I found the sizing to be on the large side.
The material isn't too thin or thick I'd say they were a nice middle, not too thin to be see through but not too thick to get hot and unbreathable.
I've worn these loads and over time they've lost their shape a bit. The waist elastic hasn't gone yet so that's a plus! Some of the pairs' elastic has started to come away but I've just sewed it back on. No where else has come unstitched the gusset for example. They wash well and dry quickly.
I can't really complain about these knickers except to say the sizes are on the generous side. The 8/10 I've got are more like 12. They're certainly not the worse pants I've ever bought infact in comparison to other 'value' shorts they are favourable.
I'll give 4 stars
I don't know about you other ladies out there but I am a pant collector. I love buying myself new undies and yep I have loads of fancy stuff but I do buy plain, everyday pants too which is why I bought these in my local Asda store costing me just £2.50 for 4 pairs of them.
They came in a see through hanging bag where I was clearly told what they were and who they were by on them and the size was stated and contact details for Asda for clearly listed.
These are actually refered to as shorts though to me in style remind of me of what my mum refers to as apple catchers, to me I prefer to call them full briefs!
They are a large pant, cover the bum really well and come to above the belly button with no roll down. They are available to purchase in sizes 8-10, 12-14, 16-18, 20-22 and are made of 100% cotton. They are fully machine washable, tumble dry safe and suitable for ironing as well and I find them great for washing and tumble drying and I never iron my pants I have to admit and when I pop them on the wrinkles and creases fall out anyway.
They are not thick pants these, allow my skin to breathe and more importantly are really comfy and don't lose their shape through washing or wearing. I do think that these are the upper of the size you buy as well so they are roomy and they look ok though couldn't be described as sexy pants!
Well made, nicely finished off but very plain these are basically wash and bin pants if you want them to be for the price of them but for me if washed properly they last ages so I'm happy...just not a sexy pant wearer!
