“ Women's Jeans „
I have always loved wearing jean and even when pregnant I have bought maternity jeans so that I could keep wearing them. After I had my second daughter I was actually a size smaller than when I fell pregnant but with a new baby and not a lot of money I turned to George to find some new jeans at a decent price. I ended up buying their basic boot cut jeans which currently sell at £8 although I seem to think I paid even less than that when I bought them. The jeans being from George are only available to buy at Asda, one of their George stores or online where you can pick them up from store or pay for delivery. The jeans are available in sizes 8 to 24 and in short, long and regular leg, I bought a 16 regular in the jeans. The jeans are a mid denim colour, they are not really light like true denim but are not the really dark blue that you can buy, I really like the colour and being a little darker than normal denim they are flattering. The jeans have a button and zip fastening at the front and then pockets front and back, they have ring loops for if you need to wear a belt too. I find that these jeans gape a little at my back which is because my spine is quite curved or I have a hollow back as my Mam likes to describe it, I also have quite a low waist so I am unable to use a belt to tighten as if I do it is uncomfortable. Obviously the problem with the fit is just because of my shape but thought I should point it out incase there are other people out there like me. I found that the jeans were comfortable to wear but I had to always wear a top which was quite long to cover the fit of them. I found that I could never wear the jeans for more than 1 day even if they weren't dirty as the stretch in them has a little too much give and then they just feel like they are falling down. I liked the look of the jeans as they fitted the tops of my legs well without looking too tight and the flare at the bottom is hugely obvious but rather flowed nicely with the shape of the jeans. The jeans washed well and as with all my clothing I washed them at 30 degrees, they do run to begin with so I would advise only washing with black clothing until this has past which does take about 3 washes. As there is stretch in them using a drier on them does tighten them rather a lot until you wear them again which was great for me as I lost weight as I could wear them longer. I no longer wear the jeans as happily have recently lost a stone so they are far too big for me now however when I get chance to get my sewing machine out I am going to attempt to make them into 3/4 trousers for my holiday. These jeans are great value, very comfortable and wash well, if you have a normal shape then they should fit better than what they fitted me but I will give them 4 stars, deducting a star for how they fitted me.
I put a lot of weight on during pregnancy and after I had Kai I felt absolutely enormous. Prior to falling pregnant I lived in skinny jeans, but I couldn't fit in any of them after having Kai. :( While shopping for a couple of new pairs, I decided rather than getting skinny jeans to get some bootcut jeans because I was self conscious at the time of my thighs, bum & especially my calves, because I felt like I had cankles which are of course really noticeable when wearing skinny jeans! These bootcut jeans from Asda were a complete bargain at a fiver each (sale price) and even at the full retail price of a teeny tiny £8 they are a complete steal! I got two pairs and have been really happy with the quality of them and they fit really well. The design of them is simple and casual, they're just a basic pair of jeans with front and back pockets, a zip and button, belt loops & that's about it, the waistband isn't elasticated but its really comfortable and doesn't dig into my belly or cause it to spill over the top!! Even when I was bigger the waistband was a bit too loose and I needed a belt, though. The jeans fit really well and don't make my legs look huge or anything, I was slightly worried that they might make my lower legs look big or out of proportion but the flare isn't really obvious, it's just right and it can be tucked into uggs if you don't like the flare. The material isn't as stiff as my other jeans and it has a slight stretch so I didn't feel restricted while wearing them, they're really comfortable and the material is made from soft cotton and polyester. They're not as thick as most of my other pairs of jeans and feel a bit like a thick heavy weight pair of leggings but this is better than them being really heavy and thick in my opinion. The jeans come in different shades of blue & navy and i have two navy pairs, which looked almost black when i got them but now look slightly grey. They are easy to style, they're casual jeans and nothing special so are best paired with a simple t shirt/vest/cardigan etc. The jeans don't flap around like some bootcut jeans do, the opening at the bottom isn't massive which is another advantage. The jeans do wash well, but have faded over time and have gone a bit baggy especially around the knee area. They are now a bit tatty looking and the stitching isn't as neat as it used to be but considering the price they've lasted well. Sizes available are 8-22. I'd recommend these because they're a real bargain and are very comfortable and not bad quality.
Awful cheap jeans! I would Never wear these jeans and certainly not in public. and i definately wouldnt recommend them to my friends! these jeans are cheap and it shows. they are a *funny* colour blue. they fit too tight in some places and baggy in others. you look like your in mens jeans wth out the style of boy fit jeans! Asdas clothes are usually quite nice. just a cheaper version of what other more expensive "brand name" companies are selling. these jeans are a huge disappointment. I'm sure if you are the "right shape" they fit lovely however my larger / longer legs and small waist mean these just arent right. I completely disagree with some of the other reviews and think you should pay the extra ad shop else where. Also until asda start selling a range of clothes for us tall girls then i wont be buying jeans from them any time soon unfortunatly. I suppose you do "get what you pay for"
I love these jeans! They fit wonderfully! Have enough give in them to be comfortable but not enough to sag after wearing them for an hour. A 12 is really a 12 and allows for 'child bearing' hips! I find mine look lovely with my boots and for the price you can have a couple of pairs. One pair for knocking around the house in without being made to feel like a tramp! The other pair for public. They can be dressed up or down as with any jeans and look great with a nice pair of high shoes. As somone who is not short I find the length great! I have had many pairs of jeans and for plain and simple jeans I would rather buy these then the ones from Next which are almost double the price but not as comfortable or flattering! They also wash really well which I always worry about when buying something that is cheap.
I have to say that I have always struggled to find jeans that fit well, they are either too short, too long or fall halfway down my backside, unfortunately. My problem is the same as many women, I am not a standard size - I have a small waist (27 inches), wide hips and average leg length. I don't normally shop in Asda but when I do I always look in the George department, especially now. I had been looking for the perfect pair of jeans for years and now I think I have found an affordable, good quality pair in soft denim. These jeans fit perfectly, as I can tell they start in a size 8 and they go up to a size 24. I opted for a size 10, the jeans fit like a glove, they don't sag, wash well and considering I wear them all the time have worn very well. Definitely a bargin at only eight pounds.
I love wearing jeans - always have and always will. However, like most women I always struggle to find jeans which actually fit me! Last month I took the plunge to find the perfect pair of jeans. I've never found them yet and figured I really should give it another go. After all, who really wants to look like they've held a million breaths just to get into their denims? By the time I'd reached the end of the high street, closing time had set in. The last shop on the street was Asda - literally the last place I would have looked in for good quality jeans. But... time was short so in I went. I've always passed the clothes section but this time headed straight for it, wondering what I could possibly find to beat the expensive brands (which weren't that great anyway). I was pleasently surprised to see a wide range of jeans at very affordable prices - typically between £8 - £12. Looking further at the quality, I saw that these were very well stitched and very stylish with strong durable material. (I usually find that jeans at these prices have broken zips and starchy uncomfortable material). I chose to try on the £8 basic bootcut pair, and another pair at £12 with pink detail. I was still very sceptical about the fit (as I am with all jeans) until I tried them on...... WOW. My jaw could have hit the floor because the fit was absolutely amazing. No more "urgh I hate myself, why don't these look good on me" moments! I loved them to bits and bought both pairs. No wonder I had struggled to find my size amongst the rails - these must sell like hotcakes (which you could happily eat and still fit in them perfectly!). And the price?! £8 for such outstanding quality is beyond a bargain. A month on, I now only ever wear my George / Asda jeans. People compliment me on them, and I always grin because they cost me so little. From now on every time I need a new pair of jeans I will head straight to Asda. My only regret? Not finding this amazing buy sooner.
Unfortunately I have to disagree with the other reviewer of this item. I did not find these jeans to be of a good fit. I too have a strange figure. Big hips, small waist, average sized thighs but I'm short. So the big hips and short legs never, ever go hand in hand with jeans. Especially not cheap ones - which is rubbish for me! If you have a figure like mine, then I suggest you walk the other way. For the right person, I'm sure these are a brilliant fit. Once I tried these on, I found that the waist was too big for my hips, or the leg was too long. Even if you try a petite, something never works, and I don't know what it is, but these were definitely not flattering! Very good price though, I'll give Asda that. I do like a good bargain! Just these jeans were not good for the bigger hip lady.
For years I have struggled to find nice jeans which fit me well at a reasonable price. Like many women I'm not a "standard" size - I have a smallish waist, large bum and thighs, and silly wee short legs (27"!). For a while M&S did nice cheap ones which fitted well, but I haven't seen them for a couple of years. Now I've discovered these. At only £8 (although there are some styles which go to £12 - so expensive) they're an absolute bargain, but not just that, THEY FIT ME WELL!!! These jeans are really comfy. They have some lycra in them so they stretch to fit your shape, but I find them absolutely perfect for me. The waist isn't saggy as I find on lots more expensive brands, the bum and thighs fit perfectly, and the length of the short ones is still a little too long for me, but that's what happens when you're short. Doesn't stop me wearing them! The jeans start from size 8, and go right up to 22, or at least that is what was available in the store I visited. The website seems to go up to 24 although it looks like they are unavailable right now. They come in short, regular and long lengths - I wear a 14 short. I've now got 3 pairs of these, and they are all wearing really well. The material is a good weight, they are not thin and lightweight like some cheap jeans I have tried. The hems aren't wearing away after 5 months of wear, despite trailing a little bit, and the inner seams aren't wearing either. The jeans are easy to wash and dry, I wash them at either 30 or 40, and usually dry them on the clothes horse but they have been tumble dried with no ill effects. I love these jeans, Asda is my saviour just as I was starting to think maybe it was time to go really expensive to find jeans which fit. And only £8 a pair, I can't believe what a bargain this is! I'd like to recommend that everyone try them, especially if like me you struggle to find jeans which fit well on a sensible budget.
