      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Cheap and cheerful

I usually wear long pj's (trousers and jumper or shorts and a t shirt), but as it's getting into the warmer weather now i decided to get one of these nighties after seeing it instore at my local Asda. The nightie was originally £7 but had been reduced to just £3, which was a real bargain in my eyes! On the George website they are reduced to £4 at the moment which is still a bargain. Despite the big price drop, suprisingly most sizes were still in stock in my local Asda apart from the much larger sizes (20-22), however these are still available on the George website. Other sizes are: 8-10, 10-12, 12-14, 16-18. I am quite petite and a size 8 so got an 8-10 which is a bit too big for me so these are obviously generous in size. It's quite a basic nightie but the neckline detailing (white lace with a small bow on the bust which is a lovely little touch) adds a more upper class, M&S look to it. The only colour as far as i am aware is a dark flamingo type pink which is very girly and vibrant. The straps of the nightdress aren't the thick type - they're more a 'spaghetti strap', and if i'm honest are quite flimsy and not at all supportive, they don't do a great job in keeping my bust contained during the nights when i'm moving about alot in my sleep. The neckline is also very low so does show off the bust, adding a hint of lingerie to it however the length is modest and comes to my mid thigh (i'm 5'3), on taller girls i think this would be more of a 'sexy time' nightie rather than a casual nightdress. That's just my opinion though. The hem is frilled which adds a slightly more innocent and girly look but it's still overall quite revealing! The material of this nightie is very soft, lightweight and has a bit of stretch to it so it's not uncomfortably tight, (i don't have this problem though as it seems to be quite generous in size), it is made up of 65% Polyester and 35% Viscose. The nightdress is machine washable and i have had no problems with bobbling however i have found after 2 washes it is already starting to lose shape and is slightly (very slightly) fading. Overall i am not sure if to reccomend this. If buying on offer it's okay, but i wouldn't pay £7 for it as it's a bit of a confusing item of clothing (half way between casual nightwear and lingerie), it is comfy and looks good and is lightweight for the summer nights however doesn't seem like it's going to last very long.

        Nice and simple!

When it comes to nightwear I have just taken a look at how much I own! Three large drawers full of nighties and short sets and the likes and then of lounge suits, thermals and pj's all of one of my bottom wardrobe is full of them as they are too thick to store in said drawers. Yes it is fair to say I own alot but with M.E and multiple health problems I do spend alot of time in bed and very much live with the belief that comfort is everything. This costing £7.00 a nightdress and in two colour options which is a dark pink and a dark navy blue I really did like the look of darkish fushia pink one and decided on the spot (as usual lol) treat myself. In sizes 8/10. 12/14, 16/18 and 20/22 I am usually a size 10 in nightclothes so I was a little concerned this being a size 8/10 may be a little tight on me however it really isn't and seems to me more of the upper size of the ones stated than the smaller of them. Its a pretty nightdress made from 65% Polyester, 35% Viscose so looks a bit like its made from smooth cotton really and its thick enough not to be see-through. It has adjustable spaghetti style straps which have the same straps as like on a bra (like moveable up and down clasps), it has a white slotted in ribbon and some white lace on the not very deep v neck to the front of it (it is square at the back by the way and plain) and it has a slight integrated frill to the bottom of it. It has a slight ruched effect under the lace (to the front of it) which has a little white plain bow on it to obviously emphasise the bust area and give a little detail. This is very comfortable with give in it, the lace is on the material rather than near naked skin so its none irritating and the whole garment feels like jersey and its a nice just above knee length, length on my 5.8 frame. It gently nips in at the waist to enhance curves and I do like the adjustable straps and what is more the clasps never dig into my skin even when i can't sleep and end up tossing and turning in my pit. I wash and tumble dry this garment often and have no fade or it going out of sorts at all and give this a thumbs up. One negative is that it does need ironing but hey don't most items to look their best? lol. Very nice Asda and I may get the blue one next! Only available in Asda stores and from Asdadirect.com.
