~Knee Dart Joggers~
These joggers are part of the George range of clothing available from Asda. They are available in four different colours but I will be discussing the charcoal colour. At present, the joggers can be bought for boys from age 4 to 14 in store but the stock is currently limited on the Asda website.
These joggers are made up of 60% cotton and 40% polyester. They have a drawstring waist, two pockets at the back and a motif stating '56 CA.87'. It is recommended that you wash the joggers inside out on a 30c wash. They can be ironed and can also be put in the tumble dryer.
These joggers are priced from £5.00 depending on which size you purchase.
As my five year old wears a school uniform all week, he prefers to wear something comfortable at the weekend. Whilst we like him to wear some smart trousers if we are going out somewhere, I don't feel the need for him to be dressed up for playing around or going out a walk. Around 2months ago, we went in to Asda as we are fond of the childrens range in there and Boo chose these joggers himself. At £5.00, they were fairly priced and as we have had positive experiences with George clothing before, we popped them in the trolley.
We bought age 5-6 initially which are intended to fit children measuring 110-116cm. When we bought them, they fitted perfectly length wise but my son appears to have taken a bit stretch recently and we have had to purchase a pair in age 6-7 too. He is quite tall for his age but I would say the length of the trousers is suitable for an average sized child within the recommended age range. These joggers are very casual.
These joggers are very basic in design and are not fancy in the slightest. They are, however, perfect for running about in and would be suitable for wearing to nursery especially if your child may be playing with paints and the likes. My son chose charcoal grey as he liked the darker colour. The material used to make these joggers is very soft and fleecy. They do keep my sons legs and bottom warm and are lined inside. The design of the joggers is simple. My son is able to put them on easily as they just slip over his legs and bottom before being tied at the waist. The age 5-6 trousers fit him around the waist perfectly and there is plenty of room for him to move freely.
The trousers are a dark grey colour and the motif is simple. My son does prefer pockets at each side of his joggers and the back pockets remain practically unused but I can confirm they are quite deep an spacious. One thing that I am not keen on is the elastic cuffs at the bottom of each leg. The cuffs do have a reasonable amount of give to them and they can stretch over welly boots with ease. When my son is wearing the 5-6 size with his trainers, the joggers look perfectly fine when he is running around but as soon as he sits down, the cuffs start to run up his legs a little and expose his socks which looks a bit silly. This isn't as noticeable with the bigger size thankfully but wearing the bigger size does have its drawbacks as the joggers are slightly baggy at the bottom area. I would recommend to try before you buy if you can especially if your child is tall for their age.
I would say that the joggers are good quality. I have washed them on a number of occasions and the material has remained soft and the colour hasn't faded. The joggers are fairly thick but don't take long to dry when left over the clothes airer. My son finds them very comfortable to wear and can wear them with a basic top and cardigan or jumper if we are going out somewhere that doesn't require him getting dressed up fancy. They are worth the £5.00 cost and come recommended by us.
