I have had this cardigan since Christmas 2011 and it is looking a bit (well, very) worse for wear but I refuse to throw it away, it is so comfy and snugly!
I wear it whenever my dressing gown is in the wash because its really long and baggy enough to wrap around myself. I'm going to buy a new one soon but I'm going to wait until they're reduced because I don't want to pay much seeing as how quickly mine started to bobble.
I think I paid about £35 for mine, at the time the cardigan was in the new clothing range section on asos. The current price is around the same I think if not a bit more, but I can't find it on the website at the minute. They definitely do still sell it though because I saw it a few days ago when I was on the ASOS website (I'm always on it!!)
The cardigan when I first got it was really lovely, the material was soft and smooth and the ribbed detailing was nice and neat, the design is very simple - a v neck cardigan with 4 big chunky buttons on the front. It has a slight vintage kind of design and at the time I bought it this was really in fashion. I have it in cream and there's a few other colours such as green, black, khaki etc.
The first thing that I noticed when I first got it was just how huge it was. Not only was it really baggy, but it was also really long! I am only 5 foot 2 and it came past my knees. This looked fine if the cardigan was hanging open for a slouchy, laid back look but with the buttons up it just looked WRONG!!!!
I got a lot of wear out of the cardigan in the first couple of weeks after having it but stopped wearing it when it became very bobbly and the stitching started to become frayed. This happened in about 2 weeks, so I wasn't very impressed.
I began wearing it over my pyjamas if I was cold and I still do! It has a hole in the back and is kind of furry and extremely bobbly, but its so soft and warm that I can't bring myself to get rid. It is 100% acrylic and the material is thick and warm. Before I started wearing it as a dressing gown (when it wasn't bobbly and gross), I would wear it with jeans or leggings, it was the perfect length to cover my bum up which is why I mainly wore it with leggings!
The cardigan is comfortable, but due to the lack of quality and the price I will only be giving it 2 out of 5 stars.
Over the colder months, I tend to stock up on tons of new jumpers and cardigans (even when I don't need them). I have to admit, I do only wear this one when I'm having a bit of a lazy day at college or home though.
The cardigan looks just like the picture, the only issue is that the girl is probably 6 foot tall. When I wear it, I look incredibly short as it is so long on my body - coming down to just above my knees. This is perfect for when you're really tired and in need of a snuggle but not very practical.
The shape is quite typical of a cardigan with a v style neck line and 4 chunky buttons on the front.
The cardigan is 100% acrylic - which to me sounds like it is made of plastic! But I can assure you that it is very soft and feels like an expensive knitwear item. To wash you can put it in the washing machine on 40 degrees and tumble dry as normal.
Colour and size wise, you can buy the cardigan in any size from 6-18 and the colours are coral, army green, black, white and red. I chose the red one as I have pretty much every other colour in my wardrobe and fancied a change.
I do think the cardigan is lovely but only as a snuggle jumper. I would not recommend it for every day wear. Although some people wear this fashionably and it suits - its up to you! It really isn't worth the £40 I paid.
2 stars - because it is cosy for lazy days! :)
I bought 2 of these just after christmas as they were reduced from £40 to £25. The current RRP is £40 however this is a warning - don't waste your hard earned money on these unless you're stick thin and 6'0. Seriously, these cardigans come down to my ankles and despite having got a size 8, the fit is too baggy and makes me look like i'm as wide as a house. Even with heels that bring me up to 5'9, the cardigan skims past my knees and makes me feel like i'm wearing a heavy knitted blanket.
The design of this cardigan is very simple and I loved the look of it on the ASOS pictures. It is a cable knit cardi with aran detailing, a deep sort of V neck, 2 front pockets and then 4 brown plastic buttons on the front. The cardi is 100% acrylic so it is soft and warm however it definetly has a bit of a strange feel to it and it also bobbles really easily despite that I barely wear either of mine.
This cardigan can be worn open or buttoned up. I wear it open to avoid looking like I weigh 25 stone and am pregnant with quadruplets as it isn't flattering at all - if you are body concious I would avoid this - yes, it covers your body up, but it isn't flattering at all and the fit is quite bizzare - the V neck is too deep and comes down to my belly and the pockets come just past my knees!
Colours currently available - red, white, tobacco. I got mine a few months ago and they had green and pink ones. I have the cardigan in khaki green and tobacco. Both colours are pretty but unfortunetly the cardi is too long, wide and heavy for my liking so I will be sticking them on eBay. Washing the cardigans is a bit of an effort too and they take ages to dry and getting smells out of them is a nightmare. I wore this to a party back in January and it still has a faint smell of alchohol and fags despite not smoking myself. I've also noticed whenever I wear one of the cardigans it takes about 5 minutes before it is covered in Talia's (yellow labrador) fur. With my darker dogs it doesn't show up too much but it does end up really furry which is not a good look!
Sizes available: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. So, overall, you've probably guessed that I do not reccomend this cardi.
