This pack of vest tops are basic but you can't go wrong with basic. They are perfect to have in your wardrobe for those warmer summer days where you want to show a bit of flesh and get a tan.
They are a reasonable price to get 2 in a pack but the only problem I find is that there are delivery charges in ASOS and if you don't know your exact size, you will have to send it back so you will have wasted your money on the delivery. I am normally a worrier about ordering clothes online but just went with it for these and they were a great fit.
They are comfy tops and I would like to have more of these in my clothing collection. I recommend these to any girl who wants to have some basic summer clothes in stock for the odd chances of sun we get in this country.
I bought my self this two pack of vest tops in the same colours as pictured - white and purple.
Usually I fit a size 8-10, but since I'm quite large chested (32F) I tend to lean more towards the size 10 to ensure my tops aren't skin tight!
So I bought these in a size 10.
Although they were good quality - (they are not see through, did not go out of shape, and the colour did not run) they were just far too big :(
I very rarely wear these as the scoop neck is very low and as I was not expecting the vests to be so loose fitted, they show rather more than should be on show! Hence, I usually wear underneath a V neck jumper or some other item - never alone.
I would reccommend these for quality and price, just be careful on sizing. If you're after a more fitted top, then go for a size lower!
I love vests and they're the main staple of my wardrobe. I recently discovered Asos.com and have been regulary buying clothes from them for a since, including these vests. I own around 6 now and find that they're brilliant quality for the price and are also cheaper when buying in the two pack rather than individually.
A two pack of these vests is £9, however i got mine for £6 in a recent sale which i was very pleased with and they are well worth the money and i would of happily paid full price. The vests are very basic in style; thick straps, a scoop neck which shows off a little cleaveage and they're also just about long enough to wear with leggings. They are very lightweight and comfy, they can be layered with cardigans, jumpers etc and are versatile; i've worn mine with leggings, jeans, shorts, skirts etc. They can be worn casually or dressed up with jewellery and a blazer for a smart and professional look. Because of the thin straps they do give more support than spaghetti strap type vests and also cover bra straps completely.
These are ideal for any weather; summer with shorts, or winter under a thick cardi.
The tops in my opnion are almost bodycon type vests as they're very stretchy and adjust to my body shape well however unlike bodycons aren't uncomfortably tight and although the vest does show off my curves nicely it doesn't show off any detailing of any lumps and bumps! With other cheap vests i've found my belly button and bra can show through slightly but this isn't a problem with these vests.
The vests do not look or feel cheap at all. I don't understand people who pay £20 plus for a vest that is identical to this but a better brand name. These are brilliant value and brilliant quality.
The vests are 100% vicose and should be washed at 40 degrees. They can be ironed and i've had no issues with washing or ironing mine, they have not faded, bobbled or stretched. Sizes available are 6-16 and colours available are:
1 Marl Grey and 1 Navy Blue
1 White and 1 Dark Purple
1 Black and 1 White
1 Black and 1 Pink
I got the white and dark purple, both the vests are equally as good quality as eachother and the purple is a lovely shade. If you look in the picture above (the dooyoo catelouge picture) this shows the vests i got, however the purple is darker than it appears in the picture.
Overall i would highly reccomend Asos vests, whether you buy them individually or in a twin pack. Lightweight, versatile, simple and fashionable.
I have a reasonably large amount of vests already, but this was such a bargain I just couldn't help myself. Seeing as its coming up to summer, I wanted something lightweight, comfy and versatile for them supposedly hot days!
The vests are very basic, there not to low cut so you don't have to worry about cleavage being on show. The length of them come to just below my hips, so perfect to be worn with leggings (one of the main reasons I bought them) also they are extremely versatile and can be worn with pretty much anything, depending on the colours you choose. They are made from 100% viscose and are machine washable.
I think they are really comfy and soft to my skin, as with some vests a find they irritate my under-arms. The colours are really nice and match pretty much everything in my wardrobe. What I particularly like about them is that you can wear them with anything, either on there own, or build up the layers with a cardigan/jumper over the top. They have lasted me very well and are machine washable, I have also put them in the tumble dryer and ironed them, the shape and feel have them haven't changed which is a great benefit.
The only downside to this is that you can't choose the colours you want in the pack, there are a list of options already chosen for you and you pick the set that you fancy, which I think is a bit of a bummer as I wanted a khaki and black one. But apart from that they are absolutely perfect!
They are available in sizes 6-14 and come in the following choices of colours:
I decided to go for the Khaki and white. Seeing as recently my white one had to be chucked away due to a very stubborn stain and I liked the colour of the Khaki one. I bought these for £9 which I think is an absolute bargain! I'm thinking about ordering another set so can get a black one as well.
Overall fantastic tops, which are comfy and lightweight and look great with anything. Major staple in my wardrobe, a must have!
Recently I had to face a bit of a predicament. We've been experiencing some terrible winds where I live recently but none have ever been as severe as one which happened two weeks ago. During the night it actually blew all of the clothes off my washing line! It didn't just happen to our washing line, it affected quite a few of the houses in the neighbourhood, but you can probably imagine it is still a bit embarrassing to discover that your knickers may have blown onto one of your neighbours gardens and could be stuck in a tree somewhere!
Luckily only a few of my items of clothing had been in the wash that day, and the ones that were on the washing line were easily replaceable. I'd had a few basic vests hanging out there to dry, but obviously these are available to buy almost anywhere and they aren't too expensive to buy so I suppose I was lucky really compared to some people in the neighbourhood, I've heard about one man, who, I won't go into too much detail, but lets just say if there is another gust of wind then he might feel it a bit more sensitively than the rest of us!
So anyway, the search began for a couple of plain, just basic vests. It wasn't an urgent matter but as I do wear vests quite regularly, under jumpers etc, I decided it wouldn't harm to get some more in.
I've ordered from ASOS before. It is an online clothing website that caters for men, women and children. It also has outlet sections, designer sections, and a beauty section. I knew that I would find a couple of basic vests on there, and I was right.
The vests come in a pack of two, which costs £9, so they are reasonably priced at only £4.50 each. They are made from 100% viscose, and they are comfortable to wear and feel soft on your skin. They are available in sizes 6-14 (sizes 16 and 18 are no longer available). You can choose from the colours:
I think the site could improve on the colour options, by letting you choose which combination of colours you want, for example if you wanted flawless pink and white or khaki and black it should let you choose this, as you can't get these combinations under the format it's in now, and I would have liked to choose grey marl and white. But anyway, what I did go for was white and purple. One light coloured one for under light coloured jumpers (all you can wear this season) and a darker one to go under darker cardis and jumpers. I do like the style by the way so will probably be wearing them on their own when the summer comes too, if it ever finally gets here.
We will not be using our washing line for a while now so I'm glad to be able to tell you that these vests wash well in the machine and don't shrink in my dryer. The quality is just as good after a few washes and I'm sure these vests will last me a good few months before I need to replace them. Overall they are two great basic vests and I would certainly recommend them to anyone else who needs a new vest or two. It's free delivery on ASOS at the moment if you choose the style saver delivery option, and another great thing for me is that I was able to pay by PayPal. Oh and as well you can view a model walking down the catwalk wearing the vest so you know how it fits on a model properly.
