“ Brand: Asos / Type: Mens Jumper „
I am fashion mad and I must admit that whenever I see a bargain I find it hard to resist, so when I saw this gorgeous jumper reduced to half price on the ASOS website, I snapped it up!
**What ASOS say..**
Asos descibe this jumper as a fair isle jumper which features a crew neck with a ribbed trim, a fine knitted main with a contrast Fair Isle design, long length sleeves and ribbed detailing to the cuffs and waistband. In a regular fit.
This is a gorgeous crew neck jumper with a lovely fair isle print. Fair isle and aztec prints are must haves this season, and the design is really nice in my opinion. It's hard to describe but it's basically striped with different intresting shapes in each stripe, for example triangle type shapes and circles which I find really pretty and unusual. The colours in the pattern are all quite bold colours - red, brown, beige, yellow, etc.
The top has blue ribbed detailing on the neckline and on the sleeves and hem to add a bit of contrast to the jumper. I would of preferred it without the blue detailing, but it's not a massive problem as I can tuck the jumper into jeans to hide the hem and roll the sleeve up. The blue neckline is a bit of an issue to hide but it doesn't look ugly anyway, I just think it makes it apparent that this is actually a mans jumper. Yes.. you heard me right it's a mans jumper, lol. I don't see anything wrong with buying mens clothing though (eg hoodies, jumpers, oversized t shirts) as they're nice and oversized and half the time it's not clear that the clothes are actually mens.
The style overall is nice but I don't like the blue ribbed detailing so I am going to definetly alter it and cut the hem and bottom of the sleeves off. I might also make the neckline lower as it's quite high so it will look silly when the weather starts to get warmer. Apart from these minor niggles I have though it's very in fashion due to the geek chic fair isle print and I love that it's so long (it comes down to my knees!) I am only 5'3 though so on taller people/men it'd be much shorter.
**How I style..**
This is a very versatile jumper, and I usually pair this with disco pants, leather effect/patterned leggings or skinny jeans. It looks nice with stonewashed jeans and with black or dark blue jeans it can look a bit too dark and grungey as the blue hem takes away the brightness of the pattern's colour. The jumper will also look nice with the sleeves rolled up and tucked into shorts in the summer, however it'll have to be a very messy kind of look as it obviously won't be able to be tucked into the shorts properly due to the length. The jumper would also look nice over a shirt with a shirt collar exposed for the ultimate geek-chic look although i'm not brave enough to attempt to pull this particular fashion look off!
I have this jumper in S, which is equivellent to a women's 10-12 I think. It drowns me but I think it looks really cute oversized. Other sizes are - XXS, XS, M, L, XL, XXL.
**Price and value for money**
The RRP of the jumper is £35 which is average for a jumper like this. I got the jumper for just £17.50 in a recent ASOS sale. I think this is an absolute bargain as it's a fashionable and good quality jumper.
The jumper is 100% acrylic and can be machine washed according to instructions on the care label.
A really nice good quality jumper which although warm is nice and lightweight and very versatile, it adds character and style to any outfit and I would overall reccomend it.
