Advantages: Looks and feels good
Disadvantages: Bit Expensive
I bought this shirt recently as I had an interview and wanted to look nice and smart, but didn't own any well fitting, smart looking shirts. This shirt is from Asos, and is £30 which I think is quite expensive, but it's cheaper compared to Topshop and is much better quality than Primark ones.
The shirt comes in 2 colours - white or black. I got the white one. It is available in sizes 6 to 18. I got my size, a size 8, I usually get a size bigger but I wanted it to fit nicely and it does, although it's a tiny bit too loose but not noticeably when I look at myself in the mirror, it looks great, it just feels a bit loose but I definetly wouldn't risk going a size lower as I probably wouldn't even be able to do it up!
The design of the shirt is quite basic, it's long sleeved and the sleeves are just right on me - not too long. The shirt has white buttons down the front and has seam detailing on the front of the shirt which gives it a feminine look. It has quite an oversized collar but it doesn't look as over the top or eyecatching as I had thought it would, which is good as it gives a very subtle, slight edge to the shirt.
I wear this usually purely to interviews and I keep it nicely hung up in my wardrobe. It is easy to wash in the washing machine but can't be tumble dryed. Ironing it is fine but Asos say to 'cool iron' only. I have no idea what that means - I never do the ironing lol. It is 97& cotton & 3% elastane, it's very comfy and soft.
I've worn this with the typical interview outfit - black trousers, black skirt, etc etc and it goes well with them both. I have also worn it tucked into high waisted jeans to a more laid back interview at a cafe, and the man commented that I looked very professional so it obviously brings a classy look to any outfit (although I doubt it would have that effect if worn with trackies!)
I think this shirt looks really feminine. It is not shapeless and it shows off my shape as it clings to my hips and the collar makes my shoulders appear smaller. The shirt isn't too long - it goes past my waist, and itis long enough to be tucked into my waistband. It's not as sheer as I thought it would be, and a white bra underneath can not be seen. I haven't tried this with a black bra because of common sense but I think it would more than likely show through.
Overall this is a really nice, smart shirt, and although not cheap it is very easy to keep clean - it has not stained since I have had it despite spilling Coke down the front of it on the train! There is no mark there at all which is a miracle. I'd reccomend this.
