“ Brand: Asos / Type: Jumper „
Like most girls I love clothes, and I just can't seem to stop myself from placing regular orders with online super-retailer www.ASOS.com. I came across this jumper in the sales where it was reduced from the RRP of £30.00, to just £12.00. Quite the bargain and I thought it would be perfect for adding to my Spring wardrobe. Product description: "Cable knit jumper, featuring an extreme scooped neckline with a wide ribbed trim, a textured cable knit, a curved cropped front hem with rib detailing and a longer length to the back, and cropped sleeves, in a lightweight finish." This top caught my eye as I really love knitwear. I am also a keen knitter but have not quite got around to learning cables yet, so I was attracted by the pretty textured and cable stitch pattern. The pattern runs all over the front and back of the sweater as well as down the arms. It is finished with a wide band of ribbing on the lower edge and neckline, although the sleeves are finished with a few rows of stockinette stitch which is not quite so good as it causes them to roll up a little at the edge. This Lightweight Cable Jumper came in a range of nice colours, including berry (as pictured above), navy and stone. I chose to purchase the stone colour jumper, although it is not exactly what I would think of as a "stone" colour, and I would personally describe it as more of a warm, camel sort of shade. This jumper is available in a range of sizes from UK 6 - UK 18. Bear in mind that it is intentionally a bit on the loose side, and if you prefer a tighter fitted look I would suggest opting for a size below your usual. I also really liked the unusual shaped design of this jumper, although I must say it suits the model better than it does me! The cut is quite loose and oversized on the body, and fitted on the arms. I like the sleeves as they come just below elbow length which is flattering and hides any lumps and bumps, as well as being not overly warm for the Spring weather. The back of the jumper has quite a long line to it and comes down to cover the bum. At the front of the jumper it is quite low cut with a deep scoop neck, and also cropped as the hem curves up towards the centre. I would never wear this without a top underneath as the scoop neck is low enough that it would reveal my underwear, and I have quite a long torso so the cropped front would be more revealing than it is on the model shown in the pictures. However it looks nice with a camisole vest underneath and luckily for me I really like the layered look! The details on the ASOS website described the jumper as being made of 100% viscose. I had a nice surprise when I unpacked the jumper and felt how incredibly soft it was, and using my knitting skills, deduced that there must be some bunny fluff in there! After checking the label I was very happy to see that the fibre content is actually 40% nylon, 30% polyester, 25% viscose, and 5% angora wool. This blend is excellent for providing a nice smooth wool to show off the stitch pattern, as well as giving strength and durability. Even with only a 5% angora content this small touch adds a wonderful soft quality to the overall fabric and gives additional warmth. It can be machine washed at 40 degrees, although I always keep my washing machine turned down to 30 degrees to be a bit more eco-friendly! Every time I've put this through the washing machine it has come up looking as good as new and is wearing very well. All in all I think this is a fantastic bargain and I would urge you girls to check out the ASOS.com sales now! It feels great to wear, is comfortable and looks stylish. The unusual design is a nice twist on standard knitwear, but for me I really feel like it needs to be worn with the correct under layer to get the right look to suit my frame. Overall I'm really pleased with it and the quality is superb. I'll be wearing this all season and the classic colour means I can get plenty of use out of it year after year.
