Every month I like to treat myself, and I have a wishlist on asos as long as my arm. Last month's payday treat was this little black dress as I had my eye on it for ages and it was reduced to £16.50 from £28. I even used a cheeky little Quidco cashback to get 3% so this was another incentive for me to buy it!
The dress is a lovely design, I am 5"5 and it easily drops to a decent length, not too short, but not so long as down my knees. It is sleeveless and comes up round the neck so as not to show off the bust area but also not a turtleneck so it leaves just the right amount to the imagination! The best selling feature on this dress which caught my eye (and unfortunately is hard to see in the picture!) is that it has a lovely mesh material strip which comes from the top left shoulder down to the middle of the bust. This makes it rather sexy in an effortless way but not too tacky or cliche so I would look in any way trampy! It shows a little bit of boob so it has a nice edge to it as opposed to it being a simple covered up black dress.
The back is a bit low cut on this dress, more than I expected (although I watched the catwalk feature on asos so I could see it was a lot more low cut than my normal attire!) which does make finding a bra to wear with this dress quite difficult as any bra you wear will be seen! My only cure for this was to get a strapless stick on bra (available from places like M&S and the like) so my back was completely open but this just heightened the sexiness off this dress in my opinion!
The dress is a bodycon fit so is very hugging to all curves and so sits really nicely to enhance one's figure. I am a size 10 usually and bought this in a 10 and it fit perfectly so the fitting is true to size making this an easy item to buy online without previous purchase. The mesh part of the dress is made from 84% Nylon, 16% Elastane and the main material of the dress is made from 77% Viscose, 18% Nylon, 5% Elastane. This probably explains why this dress fits like a glove and is very stretchy and accommodating to my figure!
The dress has been really easy to wash as I wore it last week to a club for a friend's birthday and whilst it did not get dirty I was in it dancing away that night so had sweated a bit! I put it in my washing machine on 30 degrees and it hasn't changed shape or lost it's colour in anyway so I am really happy with that.
This dress can also be bought in blue (which is quite a bold, cobalt blue) and a red which is very vibrant and daring. Personally I think this dress looks a million times better in black hence why I bought it in this colour but I guess it gives other buyers options to choose from.
Overall I love this dress, it is my favourite buy at a steal for 16 quid and I would definitely recommend it. It is stylish, sassy and easy to wear with any outfit and as far as LBD's go for me this one will not be going out of style any time soon and I can't wait for another opportunity to wear it!
