      Very helpful

      A nice versatile dress

I was never one for wearing skirts or dresses and it was only when I was seeing my boyfriend at the time a few years ago that I developed the confidence to do so because I was slimmer than I had been before and seemed to have got a newly found confidence. I am not remotely confident these days but I do still like to wear a dress if I am going out to a party or for a night out and whilst I don't have many I am often browsing asos looking for bargains! One dress I purchased to wear for my Uncles 50th was a asos skater dress with zip back and this is my review of that dress.

I do like skater dresses in particular as they have a flared skirt part which is useful for hiding any lumps and bumps if you are having a "fat" day. This dress was available in black which I purchased it in as well as a mink colour on the asos website. It is currently only available in mink on the site but I can confirm it is still in the sale and costs just £13.00 which is the amount I paid for it back in early May! The dress was available in sizes 6 to 18 but is currently only available in a 14. The dress is true to size I have found.

The dress features a high neck line and so you will not be flashing any boob with this dress! I think the fact that the dress is rather short though measuring 33" from side neck to hem makes up for that as you don't want to be all legs and boob and I think it is better to just have one on show really! The upper part of the dress features some seam detailing to the sides so it holds its shape well and looks nice when on. What I really liked about this dress though was the fact that on the front it does look a rather plain dress but the back of the dress features a long exposed golden coloured zip which makes it look much nicer in my opinion. The dress is made from 69% polyester, 29% viscose and 2% elastane and it does feel rather thick but stretchy as well so it is not uncomfortable to wear at all.

I wore this dress with a golden coloured disk belt around my middle to break up the black on the front as I personally felt for me this looked better but of course you could wear it as it is as well. I teamed the dress up with some golden coloured accessories and red statement shoes but black or gold shoes would work equally well with this dress. I think this dress is a good one to wear on a night out but teamed with some black tights and some flats it could be equally as useful for work wear in my opinion.

The dress is suitable for machine washing at 40 degrees as long as you wash it with like colours, though I never seem to separate my colours and thankfully this one didn't run when I washed it! It came out of the wash well and also ironed well. There are no bobbles on the dress from washing which is obviously a good thing!

I would certainly recommend this dress and even in the mink colour it is lovely! The item number is 169044 on asos should anyone wish to have a look.

Thank you for reading my review!
