      ASOS The Mix Vest

Like most girls I love clothes, and I just can't seem to stop myself from placing regular orders with online super-retailer www.ASOS.com. One of my favourite everyday styles is the layered look and I like to keep a good supply of basic vest tops in my wardrobe. "The Mix" Vest is available exclusively from ASOS costing RRP £8.00 which is an excellent price and seems very good value.

Product description: "Basic vest, crafted in a soft cotton and modal blend jersey fabric. Featuring a high round neckline and sleeveless styling and slight racer cut to the front and back. Designed with a slim, stretch fit."

This top was available in a choice of colours including black, white, grey and cerise red. I opted for plain and sensible black as this is the most versatile colour to go with other clothes and creates a nice slimming effect. This comes in a huge range of sizes from UK 4 - UK 18. I like my vest tops to be very close fitting as I tend to layer them under other items and don't want any loose excess fabric creating extra bulk, so I chose to buy one size smaller than my usual 10 and the size 8 top fits me perfectly like a second skin!

This vest top has been cut in a simple racer back style which is very flattering on my figure and gives me the illusion of having some curves when in fact I'm just a skinny flat-chested girl with no shape! The high neckline teamed with the inward curving edges of the straps at the front and the back looks lovely and gives a nice twist to the plain cut of a standard vest top. This top can look glamorous when worn with a pencil skirt, or sporty and urban when worn with khakis or jeans. It's hugely versatile and I can pair it up with pretty much everything in my wardrobe to get a simple and sleek looking outfit with minimal effort required. The only thing to bear in mind is that bra straps will be visible as the sleeveless cut around the shoulders does not give coverage in the right area to hide the straps, and I need to choose the right underwear to wear with this so it's not revealing.

The fabric is made of 50% Cotton, 50% Modal which is stretchy enough to allow for ease of movement, and feels comfortable against the skin. It is nice and tight fitting and retains its shape after every wear. It is very simple to look after the garment as it is doesn't really seem to crease and so I tend to just wash and dry it then store it away in my cupboard without the need for ironing, which is always a bonus! I always wash on a cool setting of 30 degrees, and this works just fine to get it nice and clean and fresh for wearing again.

The Mix vest is a beautifully cut top that looks extremely flattering and is versatile enough to wear with practically anything. I would definitely recommend it and will be purchasing a few more now that they have restocked all the different sizes. A top product from ASOS.
