      A cool piece of clubwear

Like most girls I love clothes, and I just can't seem to stop myself from placing regular orders with online super-retailer www.ASOS.com. I came across this top in the sales where it was reduced from the RRP of £25.00, to £10.00. It's been reduced once again in the clearance lines and is just £7.50, so go snap up a bargain now if you like the look of it!

Product description: "Vest by ASOS Collection. Featuring a scooped neckline and back with a contrast bound edge, wide shoulder straps, a cropped hem to the front and a caged lattice strap design to reverse."

This top is available in UK sizes 6 - 18. It comes in a choice of two colours; either black or cobalt blue. I opted for the black version as black is always a classic, and this version had an eye-catching neon yellow trim around the neckline which caught my attention in the first place.

The top has a basic straight cut design and is plain at the front aside from the neon trim around the scooped neckline. It is cropped but not too much to be overly revealing, and the back section is slightly longer. I noticed from the photos of the item on the model that it appeared to be quite loosely fitted, so I ordered a size smaller than normal, choosing a UK 8 instead of my actual size of UK 10. I was glad that I had decided to do this as when I received the top and tried it on I could clearly see that the seams had been cut without any shaping to accentuate the waist, and it is quite loose around the waist, and especially at the back which seems to be cut wider than the front section. From the front this top looks like a pretty ordinary piece, but the back is detailed and gives reveals the fun part of the design. I love cage detailing which has been quite popular in clubwear recently, and this top features a completely cage latticed back section. This exposes a lot of flesh and unless you have a fancy backless bra or are brave enough to go without, then you can see the back of your underwear through the gaps in the top.

I think this top is really sexy in a simple way, and it's nice to have a plain front section so I can wear this with a jacket over it without it looking at all revealing, and then by the time I'm ready to hit the dancefloor all I need to do is take the jacket off and I can show off the cool detailing in the back of the top. I like to wear this either with a pair of black skinny jeans and heeled boots for a more casual look, or style it up with a high-waisted body-con skirt if I want to wear something a bit more dressy. I think the top looks good with a high-waisted skirt as it can be tucked in to create a flattering silhouette and it also helps to balance the amount of flesh on show as you can no longer notice that it's cropped as there's no torso exposed and you only get bare skin showing through the patterned section at the back of the top.

The fabric is made of 100% viscose and feels nice and smooth to the touch. It's quite cool against the skin which is nice for when I wear it out clubbing as I can get really hot dancing around for hours. There is absolutely no stretch in the fabric so it doesn't cling to my body and fits a bit loosely. It is machine washable so I just through this in the washing machine on my usual 30 degree cycle. The only problem is that the fabric creases really badly when drying and it can take quite a lot of work to iron it out properly. I usually end up stuffing a folded towel inside the top before ironing it, as otherwise there is the risk of ironing the cage lattice pattern onto the front of the top and having creases form against where the strips of fabric are.

I think this is a really great top that I love wearing on nights out. The fact that it has a balance between the plain front and detailed back makes it interesting but easily wearable, and I'm really happy with how it looks when paired with jeans or a tight skirt. This is another great bargain piece from ASOS that I would happily recommend, although you may be better off going one down from your usual size unless you're happy to have the top even more loosely fitting.
