“ Undergarments for women. „
I have for a number of years dipped into buying some clothing from Avon and on the whole the quality is good and the fit fair. I have tended to buy quite a few bra's from them as well as their version of Fitflops and some other odd items.
The Avon bra is a thing to behold. Some of them are stunningly beautiful, carefully finished and quite exquisite and others are functional and great for everyday ware. Personally, for me the Avon bra is a bit like the M&S bra for most women. I go to Avon first.
The Avon bra prices tend to be very reasonable for what you get. The fancier designs tend to be around the £12-18 price bracket which I think is very fair. Whilst the everyday plainer versions start at around £4.00. Personally I favour their T Shirt Bra and have 2 in each colour of white, black and neutral and most of these were bought when on offer for around £5 - £6. I think the usual price is £10.00.
Here is where there is a potential problem, whilst Avon sell several of their bras in a huge range of sizes the sizing varies from style to style across the range and can even vary for two bras of supposedly the same size within the same range. However there is a major advantage of buying bras from Avon. You can try them on at home. I usually order the same bra in 2 or even 3 sizes and my representative charges me on a sale or return basis. I arm myself with the bras and the clothes I am likely to wear them with and have a trying on session. That way I ensure that the bra is fit for purpose and I can check for thins like unwanted lumps and bumps or potential rubs etc before I buy. Not all reps will let you do this, but if you are regular customer they should let you have them for at least a few hours to try on before they call back for the returns or the money.
I handwash my bra's and have done for quite a few years now. I have some Avon bra's that I have been wearing for each week years that are still in very nice to wear and nice looking condition, there have been some styles that have gone by the wayside far quicker int eh meantime. But generally they are good quality and robust.
As mentioned the sizing does vary a bit across the range, however the good selling point is that Avon do sell from very small to very big sizes. I don't think they quite cater for the very large voluptuous lady - but they do cover a good range of sizes.
2. Knickers & Pants:
I have from time to time been tempted to buy knickers from Avon too and these have always been good quality and a pleasure to wear. Some of the Bra's can be bought with matching knickers, shorts or thongs and that is great, although personally, I never seem to wear the top and bottom at the same time.
Prices are very good - usually around £4-£6 per unit and they often do packs of three for around £10.00
I find the sizings tend to be 10-12, 14-16 and 18-20, they do occasionally stock a smaller size. The sizings are generous as a size 12-14 myself the 10-12 is always big enough.
I have some lovely black underwear from Avon that has lasted and lasted and I am very pleased. Generally all the clothing I have bought form them has worn very well.
I have a couple of summer kaftan style tops from Avon that have lasted a few years now as well as some leggings, a sports bra and shorts set and a really nice Pineapple Yoga top that came from Avon. The fitflops I bought were very hard wearing and lovely to walk miles in. All items are really good value for money and last well.
Avon products can be bought via your local Representative or via Avon on-line.
OK, I admit it I am a bit of a closet fan of Avon underwear!
Please don't discount Avon clothing as cheap tat, try it, it is easy to return if you don't want it and I think it represents excellent value for money.
===Avon and Lingerie===
Avon are well known for direct selling of make-up and perfumes door to door.
However in recent years, as well as now being able to order directly from their website they also now stock a large range of bras, pants, control wear, pyjamas, dressing gowns and slippers.
Avon do a 100% money back guarantee up to 90 days from purchase - but pants can only be returned if the hygiene strip has not been removed.
As Avon change its lines so frequently I am focusing on what is for sale currently in their Brochure 4 of 2013.
There are currently 10 different styles of bra for sale - in mostly white, but a few in beige and black.
The sizes cover a good range from 32A up to 42G - but not all styles are available in all sizes.
Most of the bras tend to have under wiring but a few do not and they also have a few new lines - such as a front fastening 'posture bra' and also one with gel filled straps and a sports bra. They also sell a strapless bra as well as one with multi position straps.
Currently they are selling lace briefs in a few colours and also 'control wear'. During the Spring and Summer months they often do pretty sets of matching bra and pants in different patterns.
===Pyjamas and night T-shirts===
They always feature a never ending variety of pyjamas - some with conventional bottoms and others with a more legging sort of bottom - often with a contrasting t-shirt style top.
These are often in designs to match the pyjamas and come as thin satiny wrap around ones in Summer and fleecy wrap around ones in Winter.
Not actually lingerie but they do often sell matching slippers - either slip on as mules or else the bootie sort for Winter.
Avon have also started selling a male control t-shirt and shorts, plus pyjamas of a shorts and t-shirt.
==What I have Bought and My Opinion===
Bras - Avon do a good range of bras but I have not used many as I do not like under wired bras. However a while ago I bought the non wired t-shirt slightly padded bra - it was a bargain for £5 and I bought it in white to have a fresh spare one for medical appointments.
The full price would have been £7.99 which is still a bargain as I often buy the Doreen bras which are nearly £30.
I have now had this bra for a good few months and wear it regularly. It has slightly padded cups with no seams and is very comfortable - if fact I will keep buying these and not bother with the Doreen bras any more.
Pants - I have not bought any from Avon - not because I do not like them but I feel they are way too expensive and I prefer to get multi packs from places such as Matalan.
Pyjamas - These are often very nice but I do find them expensive - even when being sold off in the sales.
Dressing Gowns - now I love these - I have two fleecy ones - they are so warm, lightweight and quick to dry. They are both wrap around and one is cream with a ribbon border and the other is a pink animal print - but quite subtle. These are also expensive at around £30 full price but I bought them on offer at around half price so I think they are definitely worth the money.
Slippers - again I have bought both the mule and bootie sort from Avon and liked them both. The mule I found better as the bootie slips off my foot a bit when I walk but they are for around the house and are warm with a furry lining.
The everyday bras are quite reasonable at all being under £8 and often even on sale at a reduced price.
Other bras can be more expensive but I think about £16 is the most expensive.
Pyjamas and nightdresses cost up to £18.
Briefs vary but the lace ones now on sale are 3 for £10.
Dressing gowns and robes can be £30.
As with all Avon items they are often on offer so if you want something buy it when it is on sale.
I would definitely recommend the t-shirt bra as it is great value - also the dressing gowns and slippers when on offer.
Personally I find the pyjamas and briefs overpriced -and do not buy them even when on sale.
I also do not like under wired bras so that rules out most of them for me but many other people are quite happy with them.
3 stars - you can get some bargains but some items are overpriced.
I love many Avon products and so I have in the past purchased a variety of different underwears from AVon, however I have been disappointed every time, and no longer purchase from them. I am quite petite and I find that even Avon's smallest size is still to big for me, and by this I mean the briefs/pants/knickers. I am a size 8 however the size 8 that Avon sell is too big for me. They have started selling size 6 over the past year or two however their prices on the underwear have also gone up and so even if they did fit me I would not purchase.
I also have found that their Bra's are not very padded, and so if you required something with padding then Avon Bra's are definately not for you.
The only positive I can think of is that Avon's range of colours and designs in their Underwear section of their catalogues has grown, and so if you can easily fit into a size then you do have a nice variety to choose from. Besides this I would not recommend. By the time you order some underwear, try it on and return it (if it doesn't fit), you'l realise that its easier to just nip into town and physically try on underwear in stores.
When i became an Avon representative last summer, i found myself drawn in by the cheap offers in the staff demo/clearance brochure. There were often offers on underwear especially bra's. I am usually sceptical about buying clothing products without trying them on for size first. However at low prices from £3.50 - £8.00 for a bra , i couldn't resist purchasing some to try.
My first purchase was a 34DD white under-wired 'Pretty everyday bra' costing around £4.50. When the bra arrived i was pleasantly surprised by the pattern and quality of the material. However i was disappointed once trying on the bra. It was a little small and didn't give a flattering finish (a bit of a squashed look). I wore the bra a few times but the wire underneath kept poking into my armpit and broke through the stitching. Very uncomfortable!
I decided to give Avon Bra's another chance and purchased a 34DD underwired/ slightly padded 'Rainbow Bright's' Bra with matching Knickers. This bra was WAY too small for me! i just about squeezed it on and within moments my boobs had popped out the top. Not a good look!
In most stores a 34DD will fit me like a glove. Very rarely i may have to wear a D cup. So it was very unusual that the DD's from Avon were so small!
On a bright note, the knickers fitted well.
Underwear is not the first thing you think of when you think Avon Right? Make up, body lotions, shower gel to name a few.
Underwear in Avon is becoming more popular. Being an Avon Representatie I notice how popular it is becoming.
I have purchased a Bra an an underwear set in Avon both costing around £10 each. The quality of these sets are amazing. I bought a bra from Ann Summers and it lasted about 2 months I still have these sets from Avon 5 months later.
Avon's underwear ranges from sizes 32a to 38dd, they have different kinds from Enchancer Underwired Bras to Sports Bras, these also come in different colours. You can purchase sets also.
Enchancer Underwired Bras are 59% polyester, 36% cotton and 5% elastane, excluding trims.
Prices range from £5.00 to £15.00.
Avon also have a range of Body Illusion products from pants to dress's and tops, like the bra's and sets these range in price and are popular with Avon fans.
Avon have a 90 day return policy so if for any reason you do not like your products you can return them and they will give you your money back, or return to your rep and they will return for you.
I imagine that most people when they think of the Avon brand think of the large range of cosmetics and toiletries that they sell - underwear probably isn't the first thing that comes into most peoples heads .
However, Avon have been selling a small range of underwear for year, with a few pages of the catalogue being given over to bras, knickers, and sleepwear each campaign.
I've purchased a few items from the range, which changes often. Something that you see in one brochure might not be there in the next, but usually each brochure showcases one particular design. The designs are usually very pretty , with lace and embroidered detailing, and there is usually a matching set of bra, knickers, and occasionally a chemise. As well as showcasing the newest design each brochure, Avon also sell a range of basics - T-shirt bras, body sculpting pants etc.
The size ranges in Avon underwear are limited - with the smallest size being a 6/8 (although some ranges offer nothing below a 10) and the largest being an 18/20 . With bras, sizes start at 32a, going up to a 38dd. For those of us with ample curves or a large bosom, there can be problems finding a size to fit .
I have purchased both bra's and knickers from Avon in the past ,and sadly had problems with both . The trouble with the knickers was in the 18/20 sizing- not a very generous 20, it's sad to say, I struggled to fit into them despite taking a 20 in trousers . Despite this, the knickers themselves seemed well made, with the stitching seeming solid, and in fact I've hung onto these as I've now slimmed down enough to fit into them comfortably.
The bra's I ordered had fit wonderfully, and were accurate in size, with the underwires offering solid and comfortable support, and again the detailing and embellishments being of good quality. There was a problem with one bra, which came a few washes later, when the underwire started to work itself loose, eventually poking out of the end of the bra, to the point where I was getting a sharp prod in the side of the boob .
To give them credit, Avon did allow me to return the bra and recieve some cosmetics instead.
Overall, I think Avons lingerie is stylish and attractive, and for the most part well made, though that stray underwire did put me off a little . The customer service from Avon itself was excellent, and I will order again from them, as I suspect the faulty bra was just bad luck .
I ordered online from www.avon.uk.com.
As of May last year I became a sales representative of avon despite the fact I have very little use for or of the cosmetics side of things, I think it's quite a good way of saving money for birthday and Christmas gifts as many of their items are a fraction of the price you pay on the high street.
To date I have purchased 2 bras and a pair of matching knickers from the main catalogue as even though reps have access to clearance there are never any in my size which can be disappointing. Generally however you get a really good range in the main catalogue from 32B upwards into the 38-42 DD-F categories for larger ladies, so over all when catering for the size of everybody they do a pretty good job.
They also have different style ranges to suit everyone including:
Premier- more lacy and decorative lightly padded in terms of their bras and has thongs, shorts and briefs to match. Available in sizes 34B-42F and underwear sizes 10-20. They also do some pretty cute PJs in sizes 10-20. Items ranging from £6-12 each including PJ sets.
Flirt- A little more basic lingerie with less frills but more patterned. I think these are designed for the younger age group. Available in sizes 32A-38DD and underwear sizes 6-16. I bought the Fifi bra and matching thong from this range which was leopard printed and has to say was the best fitting bra I ever bought! However the thong option was not something I could pull off and I think the briefs are a little too large for me being a very small person finding properly fitting clothes has always been a problem for me. They also do some pretty flirty PJs in sizes 10-20. Prices range from £4-12 per item including the PJs.
Essentials-shape enhancing bras that push you up and out and make your tummy look tighter. Generally in sizes 34B-42G. Generally £8-10 as avon rarely charges the their top price for anything and always gives discounts.
Basics- As stated the basic black, white and skin coloured standard T-shirt bras from sizes 32A-42DD half the price of M and S at £6.50 per item.
Overall apart from the shape of the thongs I can't really complain I have honestly never had a better fitting bra and I have had no complaints from the girls who have bought lingerie items from me.
Also upcoming campaigns show promise of bust tops and teddies that can be worn as nice going out tops or in the bedroom in a range of sizes which should be here in time for Christmas.
I purchase quite a lot of items from the Avon and when I seen that there was some underwear items in the sale booklet I decided I would give some a go and see how they were. I purchased 3 bras and some came with matching knickers to create the set. The cheapest bra I bought was reduced to £5.00 from about £8.00 and the dearest was £10.00 which was also reduced so I did get some bargains.
When receiving the bras I was very happy with the vibrant designs although I thought the packaging might have been a bit nicer instead of just coming in a clear plastic bag especially if you are paying a fair bit. The bras fitted really well and looked good and at first I was really pleased with them until it came to washing. After a few washes the bras seemed to lose their shape and the colours faded dramatically and instead of looking like I had the bra a few weeks it looked like they were months old.
Another downside of the bra was the wires they contained as they didn't seem to stay intact for very long. The wires had pushed through and I ended up with a rather uncomfortable red blotch which really hurt.
Overall I think the bras initially look good but the quality isn't there and even at a reduced price I wouldn't buy them again.
Again initially the knickers looked bright and vibrant and lovely teamed with the bra but upon washing again they lost shape and colour and didn't look new anymore. I also think that the next size up has to be purchased in the knickers as they are small fitting. Again I wouldn't buy these knickers. I have purchased knickers for half the price from stores in the past and they have been much better quality even the Primark ones.
My experience with underwear from Avon hasn't been good at all and I think they are very over priced for the bad quality you receive. You can get nicer underwear at cheaper prices. I'm sorry but I wouldn't recommend.
As anyone who reads my reviews will already know, I buy a lot of different items from Avon.
I recently was browsing through a sale booklet that came with my main campaign catalogue and noticed that their underwear looked fashionable and smart but being a lady on the large size I had never bothered to look at the sizes they stock, I happened to notice that some of the underwear, mainly the bra's did indeed have the larger sizes (some up to a 42f) and they were not at all frumpy or old fashioned, in fact the one I was looking at was quite sexy, it was a lilac colour with a black lace over the top. I decided as this bra was reduced to just £7.50 I would give it a go, considering I had paid around £25 for a sexy bra before I felt it was a bargin.
Upon recieving my new undergarment, I tried it on and to my surprize it fit well, I am often concerned with bra's, especially when you get to the larger sizes as I have found they vary quite a bit in actual size, I can buy 2 different bras in the same size and one will fit whereas the other will be either too small or too big in the cup. Anyhow, I found this Avon bra to fit well, it gave me a nice shape and felt comfortable to wear, I wore it for the remainder of the day and had no complaints.
I have since brought another bra from Avon which does not fit quite so well, despite being the same size, I find the second one to be slightly too large in the cup area and I end up falling out sometimes whenever i bend over, which is not good at all but ok for a special occasion, just not suitable for daily use.
Both the bra's wash well and have maintained thier colour and shape, coming up as good as new, they do state, as with most bras to hand wash, but i always bung bra's in the machine and this has done them no harm, the first one has been worn and washed over and over. The straps are adjustable and they have the normal hook and eye fastening at the back.
I would recommend anyone buying Avon underwear, to check with their rep what the returns policy is just in case it is not the fit they were hoping for.
I will probably buy underwear form Avon again as the quality, style and materials are all good. I do not think I will pay full price unless it is something I really really like but then I have limited funds and this does have an impact on what i spend.
I am a fan of avon products and when i say this i mean there products as in the hair care, make up and perfumes, I am in a way gutted that the same care has not gone in to the clothing products as it has with the others,
I have recently bought a couple of bras from off avon and what a let down they were and i mean that in the support sense!! there was little support and to be honest here and blunt the bra seemed to have a mind of its own.
It would not stay put it kept riding up or popping one of my boobs out and then to top it all when i washed it the underwire support came out in the wash , and yes it was done on a delicate wash and as it is i tend to wash all my bras knickersand socks within a pillow case to try and prevent things like this happening.
I have taken to washing one of the bras with underwire support by hand now but i can feel the wire starting to push its way through the fabric and it does irratate.
so i shall not be buying these again in the future, i would also like to comment on their dressing gowns, i recently ...well just before christmas bought two dressing gowns for my children and after two washes the arms have started to come away from the main body of the garment.
I at first thought it may well of been a bad couple i had but when my sister claimed the same had happened with the one she bought her daughter i decided to write a letter of complaint , not just about those dressing gowns, but the bras too,
I also sent the two dressing gowns and the bra and underwire piece back to them now i did this around the 2nd week in January and have still to get a letter back , I would not of minded but in postage alone it cost me well over £12 to send as i wanted it to be recorded, so i knew they would get it.
This incident has put me of purchasing any clothing items from them again but i shall continue buying the other products i would just simply stay away from these items and stick to buying a product that you can touch and examine in a shop first at least you know what you a paying for.
I've been an Avon representative now for about eight months. It can be a blag sometimes going round the houses, knocking on people's doors and collecting in the brochures. But there are plus sides to the job as well, and one of those positive aspects is that reps get cheaper prices on some of the products.
And being someone who loves shopping and spending money on things that come to think of it I probably don't need as much as I think I do, this is something I take advantage of quite a lot.
You might or might not know this but reps get given a brochure exclusive to them, called the demonstration brochure which includes tips on selling more products, items exclusive for reps which haven't come out yet and also there is a clearance section at the back with really cheap Avon products for sale there. Its basically like a magazine for reps only.
I'll give an example of an underwear set they have going for sale for reps only right now. It is a leapord print bra and thong which have pink lace around the edges. It's from the Avon range 'flirt' and is really nice, I'm currently thinking about buying it as the bra is only brochure price £8 and the thong is only brochure price £4 but to me they cost only about £8 for both and its a lovely set.
The ranges of underwear that Avon sells are called:
flirt [sizes 32A-38DD] this is the range aimed at young women
Premier collection [sizes 34B-42DD] this is a good quality range
essentials [also comes in larger cup sizes 34DD-42G] some simple designs
and a basics range which does bras for all your personal needs
The bras from Avon are all made on real women instead of models which means they are much more realistic sizes. I have a few and they all fit me perfectly, the straps are just in the right places and they are so comfortable. And they are long lasting and brilliant quality as well.
The knickers they do are also all really good sizes, and quality.
The prices are realistic too. All the lingerie they sell is absolutely affordable and they have some good offers on a lot of the time as well.
The sizes are great as they have sizes for small boobs and bigger boobs going up to size 42G.
Compared to many bras and knickers on the high street Avon has great quality, great styles and really great prices.
I can't see any reason not to buy underwear from Avon.
I have quite a few avon bras as my mother is a representative for avon. most of the plain bras [balconnette, everyday, enhancer] i have fit me really well. however the patterned bras i find dont fit me, even if i order the same size as i would a plain bra.
i think the plain bras are a great fit, and last quite a long time and for the price theyre great. everyone i know who has an avon bra agrees about the fit, and value for money. the ones i have ive had for a while, and theyre still a good fit. as with any bra they dont last forever, but you geT some good use out of them id say.
i must say though, the patterned bras however are a great fit for my mother, who finds that ordering her usual size, fits her really well, so each to their own :)
Avon have recently improved the number of sizes in their range of underware to include size 6 briefs / thongs and A cup bras ideal for young teenage girls as well as smaller built women.
The underware available is up to the usual Avon high standards and prices for bras start at £6-50 with the occasional sale seeing them at around the £5 mark, you wouldn't be able to get the same quality for that price on the high street.
Also with Avon's 90 day money back guarantee you can try a couple of sizes if your unsure which size would fit best then just return whichever size doesn't fit for a full refund even if you've tried it (see the back of the order forms).
Also, with avon you get free delivery to your door from a friendly local Avon Rep every three weeks and depending on your rep you might get the odd freebe / discount / incentive as well.
Avon Lingerie and Underwear
I often flick straight through to this section first of all because I like the underwear and bra's from here. I have not ordered any for quite a while but I could do with ordering some more very soon! I find it very handy because you just look through, write down your size and it comes easily and efficiently whether you have an Avon representative or order it on line!
Avon have a fair few pages dedicated to this section and I love to see that they do not have size 0 models as I could not gage what the underwear would look like on myself then. Avon provide:
In this section, Avon offer a wide range of choice and you can choose from push up, balconette etc.. They do a large range of sizes from an A to around an F!
Briefs and Thongs
In this section there is something to suit everyone. I like the way there are pants, boxers and thongs! They all look very lovely- I think it is time for a splurge!
In this section there are Pj's, night gowns and lots more fashionable items for the time we treasure the most!
Sexy garments that make is look super hot!
Our every day supply of bras/ thongs etc...
The quality of all the lingerie is brilliant and I love the way you can put these in the dryer and it doesn't even affect them!
The prices are reasonable and cheap in the sale! You can buy a bra for £6.00 or more and thongs for £3.00 or more.
Have a look yourself- great range!
I've brought a few items of Avon's underwear range, the most recent being a black balconette underwired bra which cost just £6.50. I think the underwear from Avon is very inconsistent, the best thing is that it's cheap so if the wire comes out after 10 washes it's not as big a deal as if it happened with a La Senza bra!
The sizes aren't always very accurate I don't think. I always fit into the same size bra, I was measured this time last year and since then the same size fits me from most of the better bra shops like La Senza or Ann Summers. With Avon though depending on the style of the bra I sometimes fit into one size up or one size down. It's weird because the sizes aren't even consistent from one range to another.
The styles are what I'd call for every day wear and not for special occasions. It's all very basic, there are a few designs in all of the Avon books that are more lacy and pretty but these are usually a bit too frumpy looking and overdone for me.
I'm not always very impressed with the support from Avon bras, even the underwired bras don't give a lot of support and their bras always feel a lot flimsier than when I buy them from other places. I brought one of their enhancer bras and that didn't give me the extra cleavage I was looking for that night, actually I ended up using one of my older bras with the straps done up a bit tighter and that gave me a better shape than the enhancer bra! lol
I'll carry on buying the odd bra that takes my fancy in Avon, I'd never pay loads for one but I reckon £6.50 is reasonable for something that might or might not last very long.
Even though most of their bras go up to size 42DD I don't think ladies with bigger boobs would have much luck with them because like I said they're very flimsy and don't give you a lot of support. I know that for a fact actually because my mum is quite big up top and she's brought one Avon bra that I know of and I remember she put it on the guy bonfire night a couple of years ago not long after she got it!
You can only return Avon underwear if it's unworn and the labels and stickers are all on. I know my rep really well so whenever I order a bra or knickers I will order 2 different sized because of the inconsistency and then return the one that doesn't fit.
