Advantages: Stretchy, Lovely Print in trend, Washes easily

Disadvantages: Very figure hugging and people may not feel comfortable in it.

I'm not really once of these people who keep up with the latest fashion trends, colours or patterns and I often wear what I feel comfortable in and what I can afford. Quite often I don't like the latest fashion trend's anyway and I like to be different, so this is another reason why i don't really follow them. I'm not normally a dress person and I don't own many dresses. The dresses I do own are mostly black, which is a classy colour, how-ever I wanted something that was a bit different to what I normally wear. Quite often I stay away from print's or pattern's on tops and dresses as I prefer plain looking things.

* ~ * THE DRESS * ~ *
I was browsing on the Miss Selfridge website and their main page has some pictures of their new items. I have noticed a lot of aztec looking prints and pattern's seem to be the in thing at the moment, or coming up soon and really like some of the aztec looking jewelery and other items so I gave their Look Book a quick browse. As I was looking through the website I saw the dress and it caught my eye straight-away. The dress is called a bodycon dress, because it's figure hugging. These type's of dresses have been in fashion for a while, and I love wearing them as it show's off my figure. This particular dress has 3/4 length sleeves and is 96% viscose so it has some stretch to it. The dress looks white on the website, how-ever it's more of an off white colour and it has what they call an Aztec pattern all over the dress in a black print. The dress comes in sizes 4-16 (yes they stock size 4!!!) and will cost you £28 which I think is reasonable. I wouldn't pay anymore than this more the dress as it's only a printed pattern dress with no embellishments or anything else, and the material for the dress is quite thin as well.

The dress felt nice and soft when I took it out of the packaging and I couldn't wait to try the dress on with some heel's. It's a slip on dress so goes easily over your head. After putting the dress on I stood back and looked in the mirror. The dress is definately figure hugging and would show any lump's and bump's if you have any. I work out regularly and am very cautious about what I eat so luckily the dress fitted me lovely. The dress has a lovely round neck and also show's off the top of your back as well, as the neck-line at the back matches the front. The sleev's fit nicely and aren't too tight under the arm's so it feel's comfortable to move about in. Because the print is all over the dress it's quite eye-catching and the dress stand's out compared to other plain dresses. The dress is quite a nice length and not too short for me so I felt comfortable when wearing it out. It does come about 2 inches above the knee, how-ever I'm used to wearing dresses like this, so it was fine for me.

The dress can be machine washed and it washes very easily and nicely. Even after washing the colour and pattern on the dress looks as vibrant as it did before and it hasn't faded at all. When putting the dress on again, it fits as well as it did when I first purchased it. I am now looking for a aztec looking necklace that will look good with the dress. I can't wait to wear this in the summer and team it up with a pair of gladiator style heel's. I think this dress will look better when wearing it in the summer rather than wearing it out in the winter. The dress is deifnately more of a going out dress because of the fit of it, I don't think you can get away with wearing it in the day and if you did, I think you would need to wear it with some black tights.

This is a lovely fitting dress and is in trend with the aztec prints you will soon see in shops and online.
