      A wardrobe staple.

Please note that the Dooyoo picture is actually the back of the vest for some weird reason, haha.

I am one of those people who loves mixing up outfits and creating new and unusual looks. I'm a bit of a trend setter if I may say so myself, however there are days when I can't be bothered making an effort and instead just want to stick on jeans and a t shirt or leggings and a big baggy jumper - I've recently had a beautiful baby girl and have been pretty much living in pj bottoms, leggings and t shirts and vest tops. Vest tops take up a majority of my wardrobe and I have loads of different types; graphic vests, slogan vests, racerback vests, long vests, cropped vests, and so on - haha. I buy vests from pretty much everywhere - Tesco, Primark, New Look, River Island etc but my favourite place to buy vests (and any other clothes for that matter!) from is Topshop.

Topshop do a large range of vests which vary greatly in price, and I love their range of the basic boyfriend vests which all retail at £6 each which is around £2 more expensive than the Primark vests however still quite cheap considering that they're Topshop branded, fit well and are good quality. Topshop have a long term offer on the basic vests where you can get two for £10 which I think is a great deal. The vests can be purchased either in-store or online and it's worth mentioning that Topshop do a 10% student discount too.

These vests are basic in style. They're not the spaghetti strap type vests and instead have quite thick straps which I like as it covers my bra strap up and also feels more secure around my shoulders rather than flimsy. The neckline is a deep scoop and length wise the vests come around half way down my bum but i'm only 5'3. I was expecting the vests to be a little longer the first time I bought one as it is marketed as a boyfriend vest but eh, no big deal! I can still wear the vests with leggings because the length is long enough to cover up most of my bum and therefor not look silly!

The sleeve holes are very oversized which I love as it shows my ribs and side bra off, lol. Obviously though it's important to wear a decent bra or a bandeau underneath to avoid any embarrising accidental flashes.

The vest can be purchased in a normal jersey material and there are also ribbed (textured) ones. Colour wise, Topshop have these vests in almost every colour you could imagine. They have the basics - for example black, white and beige, along with some much more vibrant colours for example red, purple, pink, orange, green, blue etc - there's a colour for everyone. These particular vests are basic so are one block colour rather than patterned or multi coloured.

Styling these vests is easy as they are incredibly versatile. They're casual but can be really spruced up with a nice blazer, a bit of jewellery, some skinnies and heels, and the fit is really nice as the vests are quite relaxed yet still figure hugging (especially around the hips) - but not unflatteringly or uncomfortably so. Sizes available are : 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16.

The material is 100% cotton and the vests wash well - i've had some of mine for over 3 years now and they're in fabulous, flaw-free condition so it shows that despite being that bit more expensive than Primark they're worth paying extra for. The material really is soft and comfy too. Overall, these are affordable, good quality versatile vests that are great to layer underneath cardigans and jackets, or simply pair with a pair of denim cut-offs or a bodycon skirt. Reccomended!
