“ Brand: Top Shop / Type: Knitted Wool Shorts „

I'm not too sure why I don't ask for free items, but my father works and lives within walking distance from Phillip Green the owner of Arcadia (Topshop, Burton, Dorothy Perkins, BHS, etc) and because of this I get discount on all items at topshop which is fantastic - why I only found this out recently I don't know!
Given the discount, I went on a bit of a spree through Topshop and picked up a ridiculous amount of items that I wanted to purchase and was overjoyed when they came up much cheaper (even though I managed to spend well over £100).
The shorts will cost you £30 at full price but I saw them in the sale earlier today when I popped into my local store so you will most probably be able to catch them at over half discounted.
Knitwear is very big this season, skirts and shorts are becoming more knitted unlike previous years which is a massive must have if you're fashion concious. I was a little wary of these shorts when I first chose them but after trying them on I knew they were perfect!
The shorts look much better on your body as a pose to on the hanger. I thought on the hanger they looked a strange shape and wouldn't be up to much - although when I tried them on in the fitting room they looked miles better than I had expected. They are cable knitted and have a string tie waist with a thick waistband. They do look quite thin but they seemed to keep me warm! They are also quite true to size but I have to admit it does largely depend on the size of your bum (no offence to bigger bottomed people). The shorts are quite snug so if you have a bum of a bigger proportion then you might need a size up so they aren't too tight.
I read the previous reviews on here before buying them and saw mentioned that they can look a bit like pyjamas sometimes and I have to agree. You definitely do need to pair them up with the right top, tights, shoes and jacket to make them look like normal clothing! (see daisylee3 and beautybabiex reviews and you will know what I am on about).
I often team mine with a nice blouse or printed tshirt which wont make it look like a pyjama set! I have worn them about 3/4 times since buying and most recently I paired the shorts with military boots, black tights and a peter pan collared shirt. I have to admit I did get complimented on how nice the outfit looked.
When it comes to washing, I use the washing machine then pull them back into shape as they are knit so they get de-formed quite quickly. I have found them to bobble slightly on one side due to my car seatbelt which I'm not happy about but this is the nature of the material.
These are a definite must-have for the winter period so get yourself a pair in the sales and you won't regret it!
Not too long ago, my boyfriend let me free roam Topshop for any goodies I would like (but with a budget as he knows I would buy the whole shop given the choice). I picked up a pair of these cable knit shorts as they're really in season with their style and I thought they were adorable.
When I brought them home, I did feel like they look a bit like pyjamas so the option of top had to be picked carefully. I never wear this with a plain t-shirt and opt for a blouse instead (with tights because its too cold for shorts at the moment).
To briefly describe the shorts, which by the way look a LOT nicer than the image shown! They are high waisted and obviously cable knitted with quite a thick waist band and tracksuit bottom style cord. They are quite thick and comfortable to wear although it can get a bit chilly if worn without tights due to the nature of the knit.
As I have mentioned, you have to be careful how you style them so they don't look like you're wearing pyjamas. I think they would look great casual or dressed up just don't wear a logo or printed t-shirt! I love to wear mine with military boots, black tights and a blouse (of course a big chunky cardigan aswell).
Price wise, they come in at £30 which is reasonable for Topshop but expensive compared to other brands. You can buy them in red, grey, cream and black. I brought red as they stand out and the least pyjama like. Available in sizes 6-16 which is typical of Topshop. They are a true fit and the waist can be adjusted so no need to buy a size up or down.
I am yet to wash mine due to having only worn them once or twice. I have a fear of the 'first wash' of clothes as I get scared they will ruin! Although they haven't gone out of shape or bobbled yet.
I would recommend buying these to anyone who likes keeping up with fashion and loves Topshop - I have to admit I am the biggest fashion follower and cannot get enough of everything Topshop. Phillip Green (Mr Topshop) you can have my number if you wish and we will colaborate on a collection. Thanks :)
I bought these last month for the winter as I think they will look adorable with thick tights or long socks. I have only worn them 3 times so far and I love them already! They are so cosey and warm but are nice and lightweight too. The only downside though is that if wearing them without tights they can look a bit like pyjama bottoms, lol.
The shorts are available in a few different colours including cream, grey and black. I have them in 'Rose' which is a pretty shade of burgundy red. The shorts are pretty short and fit just like denim hotpants would but they do make my waist and top of my legs look a bit bulkier than they actually are because the shorts are quite a chunky knit.
They're quite high waisted too but I wouldn't dream of wearing them with a top tucked into the waistband as the waistband is unfortunetly quite chunky so I find that I have to wear these shorts with a top that's slightly cropped. The waistband has a draw string which is easy to use and it can be tightened or loosened. If wearing these shorts with a jumper it looks ok unless the jumper is long as that way it looks like i'm wearing just a jumper and tights.
The pattern on the shorts is cute and it is a cable knit type of design which is really on trend. The shorts are £30 and they feel really good quality. They're made up of Acrylic (53%) and Wool (47%). They are machine washable and wash well, they don't bobble or loose shape.
These shorts are available in store and online from Topshop and the sizes available are 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16. I'd definetly reccomend them as they're comfy, reasonably versatile and keep me warm (if layered with tights!)
