Advantages: cosy, fashionable
Disadvantages: price
Not too long ago, my boyfriend let me free roam Topshop for any goodies I would like (but with a budget as he knows I would buy the whole shop given the choice). I picked up a pair of these cable knit shorts as they're really in season with their style and I thought they were adorable.
When I brought them home, I did feel like they look a bit like pyjamas so the option of top had to be picked carefully. I never wear this with a plain t-shirt and opt for a blouse instead (with tights because its too cold for shorts at the moment).
To briefly describe the shorts, which by the way look a LOT nicer than the image shown! They are high waisted and obviously cable knitted with quite a thick waist band and tracksuit bottom style cord. They are quite thick and comfortable to wear although it can get a bit chilly if worn without tights due to the nature of the knit.
As I have mentioned, you have to be careful how you style them so they don't look like you're wearing pyjamas. I think they would look great casual or dressed up just don't wear a logo or printed t-shirt! I love to wear mine with military boots, black tights and a blouse (of course a big chunky cardigan aswell).
Price wise, they come in at £30 which is reasonable for Topshop but expensive compared to other brands. You can buy them in red, grey, cream and black. I brought red as they stand out and the least pyjama like. Available in sizes 6-16 which is typical of Topshop. They are a true fit and the waist can be adjusted so no need to buy a size up or down.
I am yet to wash mine due to having only worn them once or twice. I have a fear of the 'first wash' of clothes as I get scared they will ruin! Although they haven't gone out of shape or bobbled yet.
I would recommend buying these to anyone who likes keeping up with fashion and loves Topshop - I have to admit I am the biggest fashion follower and cannot get enough of everything Topshop. Phillip Green (Mr Topshop) you can have my number if you wish and we will colaborate on a collection. Thanks :)
Summary: lovely shorts for winter
