“ Brand: Chillytime / Type: Jersey skirt „
The other day I had a dreaded phone call from my mother inviting me and my boyfriend (who they don't really approve of) to spend Easter with her that must be obeyed and my Step Father.
Although I am 36 years old my parents do not approve of my clothes so whenever I visit them I tame it down a little, not that I think I'm particulary outrageous with what I wear anyway but my Step Father is rather protective of me and likes no appearance of leg or cleavage AT ALL! I would much prefer conversations to not be ruled at the dinner table over my dress sense so like I say whenever I visit I always try to dress conservatively.
Although I do this I still like girly, nice things and recently I was on the freemans website (www.freemans.com) and spotted this in three different colour options, black, brown and marine blue and usually I would opt for black but with the warmer weather fast approaching I opted for the marine blue colour. Please note that when you click on the page to order these depending on the size and colour you want, the price does change it just seems that the black option is pretty much £12.50 no matter the size you go for.
The skirt comes in sizes 8 - 20 and is made from 100% Cotton, so lightweight this is. The length is approx. 54 cm (21¼ ins) making this just below knee length on my 5.8 frame
What you get is a slightly flared skirt to the bottom of it with gentle pleats forming as it swishes. You get a flat, thin waistband, a concealed small zip to the back of it and two shallow pockets, one to each side of the front of the skirt giving it a rather casual feel.
This is a very easy to wear skirt. Fully machine washable and tumble drier safe...as I stated earlier I opted for the blue option in this skirt and that is a dark, rich blue and although I wash and wear this skirt often I have found it to not one bit fade or go out of shape or do anything adverse such as that.
You can dress this skirt up or down depending on your mood, like I stated earlier it is lightweight and therefore cool skirt to wear and it feels really comfortable and soft against my skin. I opted for the size 10 in this and feel that, it is a true to size item with a little bit give of give to the waistband to the top of it (great for us gals who suffer with bloated days!).
Like I stated earlier on in this review the price depends on the size and or colour you want and for my size 10 blue skirt I paid £18.00 for it which seems the highest price to pay at the moment.
Available from Freemans though google if interested.
