      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A visually stunning, feminine dress that is a pure pleasure to wear!!

For the past four years now I have had a tradition. I have always gone out New Years Eve and bought myself a new dress most of the times but four years ago I made a pledge to myself! To buy what I class as one rather expensive frock, usually to be worn the once and left to hang in my wardrobe never to see the light of day again! I just want one dress a year where I think blow the expense I don't care which usually actually isn't my way of thinking believe me lol!

Usually for an evening dress like this I would opt for a black option however this only came in a navy colour (midnight blue) and I loved the style of it and the fact that it could be worn with straps or without. I ordered it from my Kays catalogue online at k&co.com and this came as a hanging garment and cost me £210.00.

      The Dress:

Well I loved the look of the dress when I saw the photograph of it prior to ordering it and on the site you can also view the dress being modelled which I found handy. It comes in sizes 6-18 and I ordered mine in the sie 10. I am usually a size 10 and this fitted me beautifully and in my opinion it is a true to size dress.

The dress is made from silk and therfore is dry clean only of course. It's length from the underarm to the hem is about 51 ins and so on most women would be classed as a floor sweeping maxi style dress though on my 5.7ish frame it hit just below my ankles and didn't sweep the floor at all.

This dress isn't just visually a stunning dress though. It really does feel like quality on which lets face it you'd expect from a dress of this price. The quality though is superb and its just beautfiully finished in every respect.

So, yep its a maxi dress which means to me it covers up sins great! The top of the dress isn't too low cut, is slightly boned to the sides of it to give a nice shape and is slightly ruched. I don't feel constricted in the bodice top at all and its not too low backed either. To the front of the dress, going from underneath the bust line there is asymmetric draped detail of material and in my opinion once again this is a niee detail to deflect from the sins most of us were carrying on our tummies after Christmas!

The dress is lined so its got two layers to it, the top layer is like a chiffon giving the dress a floaty look and all in all I loved the dress, teamed it up with silver accesories and felt belle of the ball.

Course if you don't feel comfortable this does come with a couple of straps that are able to be adjusted and are in like a silky feeling matching coloured material and they simple hook to the front and the back of the inside of the dress with ease. I know alot of people would feel more confident using the straps so I think that is a good addition to this dress though I personally never used them.

All in all I think this is a great dress for all shapes and sizes really to get away with. The boning in it doesn't poke me at all, the floatiness helps to eliminate the appearance of my big hips and to balance me out and all in all I love it! Nice one Coast!
