A fab pair of over the knee socks

Socks are an often overlooked fashion accessory, but I love them and especially enjoy wearing statement socks. I have a bit of an obsession for over the knee socks, practically to the point of fetish. I just can't seem to stop myself from placing regular orders with online super-retailer www.ASOS.com, and I came across these Colour Block Over The Knee Socks in the sales where they were given a 20% reduction from the RRP of £5.00, to £4.00. Product description: "Over the knee socks by ASOS Collection. Knitted from cotton mix yarn. Featuring a ribbed finish, with a colour block design to the cuff, heel and toe, in an over the knee length." The socks come in two different colour options: grey with yellow or nude with red. I have the grey with yellow socks, as pictured above. I have noticed that since I purchased them, this colourway has gone back up to the full price of £5.00, but the nude with red colourway has been reduced to just £2.50, so I'm very tempted to buy these as well! The socks have an all-over ribbed pattern with contrasting colour cuff, heel, and toe sections. The grey is a nice pale shade which contrasts well against the acidic bright tone of the yellow. I really like that these socks have such a simple design, but the pop of bright colour really helps them to stand out. These socks work well with the current fashion trends for colour blocking, or the Olympics-inspired sporty looks. I think they look great with a pair of Converse type trainers, but I also wear them with ankle boots and wedge heels as they are versatile enough to suit a range of different styles. These socks fit me perfectly, along the foot and all the way up the leg. The length is just right for an over the knee sock, and the ribbed pattern gives a good grip to keep them up without suffering the horror of unrolling or slipping down that you get with some long socks. The cuff also seems to be reinforced with extra elastic to help them stay in place properly. The socks are comfortable to wear and feel nice against the skin, although they do seem to be a little on the thin side and not particularly warm. The fabric is made of 75% cotton for softness and stability, 23% nylon for durability, and 2% elastene for a close fit with added stretch. You can machine wash these socks and my pair have stood up well to washing on a 30 degree eco cycle. The bottom of the socks can pick up dirt and marks easily as the shade of grey is very pale, but they come up looking fresh and clean after a wash, and have not started to show any signs of wear or deterioration yet. Overall, I would recommend these over the knee socks as they fit well, are comfortable, stylish and a really cheap way to add a new twist to an outfit. I am really happy with how they feel, look, and last, and think I may well buy them again in the different colours. A great fashion accessory from the ASOS Collection range.
