      Cute logo socks from Cyberdog

Socks are an often overlooked fashion accessory, but I love them and especially enjoy wearing statement socks. I have a bit of an obsession for over the knee socks, practically to the point of fetish. I came across these Heart Logo Long Socks when on a shopping trip to my favourite alternative fashion store, Cyberdog. Cyberdog is a leading clothes designer in the cybergoth area and has been established for a long enough time to have a dedicated fan base, which includes me :) They are better known for their incredible club wear but they have also branched out into all sorts of other items recently, including underwear, hosiery and even pyjamas! The Heart Logo Long Socks are available from the Cyberdog Earth Stations (otherwise known as retail stores on the high street!), or online at www.cyberdog.net and they cost RRP £6.00.

Product description: "Show your love by wearing our over the knee Heart Logo Socks!"

The socks come in three different colour options: fluorescent pink, fluorescent yellow, or black. I have the black version (as pictured above) which features pink logo detailing. The pink is a nice, bright shade and stands out well against the black background. I really love the design on these socks as it features Cyberdog's mascot Chi-Chi, with a new heart shape to update the logo. The logo is repeated from top to bottom along the length of the back of the socks. This feature draws attention to the socks and makes them an unusual and eye-catching accessory. They look particularly cute with a little skirt so that the socks are fully on display and you can see the whole of the pattern repeat.

The socks are not very stretchy and they are quite tight fitting, even on my skinny little stick legs. I think that women with curves or muscles could potentially have problems with the socks feeling too tight and cutting in to the leg. The fabric is very clingy and I do find it a little difficult to fully pull the socks up. For me, they only just come to above the knee by about half an inch or so, and this is with pulling them up quite firmly! Usually I prefer over the knee socks to be a little longer than this, but the positive side is that the socks do stay firmly in place and hold up all day long without ever rolling or slipping down the leg.

The only real negative thing I have to say about these socks is that they are not made of your typical sock material. They have a slight shiny finish to them and I believe there is a high synthetic fibre content (if not completely synthetic). This is good in some respects as the pattern shows up clearly and the socks retain their shape and stay in place well. However, they also make my feet feel really, really hot, and I get very sweaty feet when wearing these socks. It can be a little uncomfortable sometimes as my feet really overheat and the synthetic properties of the fabric does not allow my feet to cool down, nor does it wick the moisture away from my skin, instead it just keeps my feet feeling clammy and sweaty. Eww. Thankfully these socks stand up very well to being machine washed and they still look in excellent condition even though they're now about 18 months old.

Overall, I'd say these are a great pair of knee socks with a really cute design, but still have a few flaws that mean they may not suit everyone.
