Advantages: No animals are harmed in making these items .

Disadvantages: none that I've found so far.

I'm not one of these people who like real fur coats and having been around in the 70's and 80's and having seen some of those cheap 'tarty 'fur coats that people wore then , well I was somewhat sceptical on the quality (if any) and value for money that the range of Dennis Basso coats would have to offer me .............how very wrong can you get !

My first one was a full lenght coat in a colour mix of cream and beige ( £140) with a matching pill box hat ( £25) and the softest cream leather gloves I've ever felt before in my life ( £25) , all bought for me by my wonderful husband for Christmas 2006.

It came in the post in a huge heavy duty cardboard box which kept it in 100% excellent condition for transit, inside the coat was then packed in its it own zip up travelling bag for everyday storage..........quite honestly it is a stunning coat of excellent value for money .

I cannot find fault with any part of this items , the lining is pale gold satin , the sort that doesn't crease up , the cut and line of the coat is superb, it fastened with a large pale cream/brown button at the neck then has three invisible hook and eye catches down the inside of the coat .
I'm just 5 foot 2 inches and the lenght of the coat comes to just above my ankles on me , the sleeves ( I'm short armed as well ) have a 3-4 inch turn back or what I do is turn them in to the sleeve of the coat .The collar can be turned up so that it protects not just your neck but on me my nose and ears ( it meets the hat ) so in all the only part of me thats not covered in coat is my eyes...........so I look a bit like an abominable snow man , which is better than an advert for tyres!


On christmas morning when I went for a walk in out village I brought the place to a stand still as it doesn't just feel real but looks utterly convincingly real as well , the people ( ladies) in the village who stopped and talked to me about my coat that day numbered many and they all asked there husbands why they haven't been bought one !

The coat is not heavy or uncomfortable to wear and does keep you very warm , I have a condition called 'Raynaud's ' which means I get cold very easily and suffer from pain in my hands, feet and the tip of my nose of all places , so I have to keep warm at all times, having this full lenght coat, hat , gloves ( and I have put cream boots with it ) means I can actually go out in the cold and not have to worry anymore.

My second coat is the photographed beside the Dennis Basso name ( above) This coat looks like ultra smooth lizard skin , yes I know what your saying 'YUCK' but its not like that at all .

The lining is fake fur all over , not just the body of the coat but all the sleeve lining as well !
The outside of the coat is a pale gold in colour with a lizard type scale print to it and its is very pretty to look at , lightweight and again very warm , this one cost me a total of £50 as it was on offer. I wear this with the hat , gloves and boots from the above one as they match in very well.

I'm hoping for this christmas to get a third Dennis Basso coat as I've asked my husband for a 3/4 lenght fur coat with a hood , I know that there is around 4-5 in the range so hope he will pick me one thats not to outrageous in colour.

The range isn't just fake fur coats he also does: leather , sheepskin ( that is unbelievable OTT) rain mac's, pure wool coats and jackets , shiny plastic mac's ,evening shawls plus hats, gloves scarves etc.
I know that over the years there has been an out cry over real fur and the way the poor animals are treated when being hunting and finally killing etc.

In buying fake fur I am promoting that killing animals in order to keep really warm isn't the way , that fake fur is an acceptable alternative to the real thing , in fact I think in some ways it is far better as its a lot cheaper and you dont have to worry about pots of paint being tipped over your head and if out get a mark on it a little light sap and water gets it off in no time easy .

Without my full lenght coat I am a prisoner in my own home ,over the real winter weather months in the past years I've found nothing that actually keeps out the cold other than wearing a full ski suit a in 10.5 tog .............and looking like a Michelin car Tyre advertisement ...............sorry but this granny isn't one to look like a character from a comedy film or someone who's just escaped from a lunatic asylum.

Dennis Basso's wonderful line of coats can be bought from QVC via the shopping site and they are just awesome , what is even better is at times QVC does easy payment plans , so you can buy one of the expensive coats and pay over 4 months ...........with no interest added on at all .
If you have anything wrong with the coast , you hate it , it doesn't fit or when you get it you try it on and think OMG no way , well QVC will take it back with no quibbles and no arguments , something not all shops do .

Summary: Good quality fake fur coats , extra warm, stylish , and just heaven to wear.
