The following is a letter I sent to Dickies customer services, thought that would be easier than re-writing the whole thing! Bottom line is, check whether they still use 'DPD' delivery company before ordering or it could end up costing you £10 more than you originally pay to re-schedule delivery!:
I received my order today, however I would like to make a complaint about the delivery company that you use.
My order was supposed to be delivered on the 27th, and I re-arranged my schedule so I was in all day, however despite me waiting for the delivery, I walked past me front door and there was a missed delivery note on the door mat. I would have heard if the driver had knocked at any reasonable volume.
The delivery was rescheduled for today (the 28th), again I cleared my day. I happened to be sat at the front window when the van appeared outside. I went into the front room and watched the driver approach the front door, and keeping in mind that I was no more than 8 feet from the front door at this moment. He gently swiped the front door, then immediately slipped the misssed delivery note through the letterbox (the letterbox made more noise than the knock). I actually had to shout him back to the front door, then I realised that he hadn't even got the parcel out of the van in the first place!!
This is absolutely disgusting considering I have now lost 2 days out of my week and the only reason for this I can think of, is that the delivery comapny charge between £5 and £10 if you need to reschedule after the second 'attempted' delivery.
I will be making proper reviews on other websites but I thought this ought to be reported as it will negatively impact on whether people choose to buy from you or go to other companies.
Dickies as a brand is quite old, but their new fashion is definately what I am after. Its style can only really be described as a cross between skate and casual, which is exactly what I want. The one thing that prompted me to write an opinion on Dickies was the view of my girlfriend wearing a navy blue hooded jumper of mine. It definately suits her more then it suits me, I love it! I have also found several casual shirts that really suit me (I think). It is not that expensive (in Britain at least) so if you are looking for a skating fashion statement, go Dickies!
I first heard about Dickies from my father (please no crude remarks). Or rather, he was wearing his Dickies. They where his overalls. That must have been when I was about 10 years old. And that was about 10 + years ago. (I will not tell you how long ago as then you can guess my age. And a woman should never give her age away) Therefore, I was no stranger to the Dickies label. Which is a horseshoe emblem. I knew that they where hard wearing clothes. As my father is, a farmer and they were covered in the pig and cow muck. Worn in all weathers. Washed until they where threadbare and my mother could patch them no more. Well about 9 months ago my husbands company gave him a uniform. A pair of Dickies trousers and company logo shirt. I thought to myself. I have not seen those is years. I thought that they would look good in months to come. As I know that they can take a real beating. As my husband does not get dirty as he sits at a desk all day (unless you count get covered in his fromage frais at lunchtime). But after 9 months I am ashamed to send him out in them. As they have lost a lot of colour. And just look rough. I have thought about dying them as they look that bad. And I feel terrible as it makes it look like I don?t care and send him about in rags, (it is just me being paranoid as I hate to think that people think that I don?t care) I have used colour powder so not to fade my colours. (I know they all fade in the end. Just not so quickly). I don?t think that the clothes are as hard wearing as they use to. As my fathers overalls did not seem to lose there colour as quickly. Or it might just be that they where so covered in dirt they never came clean. Therefore, I am rather disappointed. The Dickies web site is http://www.dickies-uk.co.uk. And most of there products are model. Mind you how can any man look sexy in a boiler suit.
Dickies are a new clothing product to me, although to be said they have been around for a while but they are one which I have been incredibly impressed with. Although I hardly own anything by them (poor student and all) their cotton American-like shirts and such are pleasing both to look at and to wear. As a girl who likes skater clothing I find it very hard to find anything that is suitable, basically because most companies think that all 'skater' girls like to wear flare like jeans instead of baggy jeans and tight shirts. This often forces me into the mens section which is never good considering I am about 5'2 and the clothes I buy are mostly too long, too baggy and just plain dissatifying!! I came across my most prized Dickies shirt in a little shop in Leicester, and found that is was both baggy (!) and in girls sizes (!!!) for a mere £23.00 (!!!!!) *and* it was red (!!!!!!). Right here and now I would like to thank Dickies for making my clothes shopping just a little less painful. So, if you like skater clothing in girls sizes, Dickies is certainly worth a look at.
Dickies have been making workwear since 1922. Other products include belts, wallets, jackets, hats, beanies, etc.. The company which is based in Fort Worth Texas, makes extremely durable clothes with primary use as a workwear item, but Dickies is also a fashion item/accessory. It has been spotted on bodies of many famous artists (notably in the hardrock, nu-metal music scene). The color does not fade when the gartment is washed. There is no need for the ironing! I've been wearing Dickies for about 3 months and I'm totally happy. The clothes are really comfortable. However the main thing is the durability of this product. Its really tough and at the same time it is comfortable when worn. Dickies is a trully life-time product.
