I shop in Dorothy Perkins quite a bit, both on line and in store and at this time of the year I tend to buy new tee shirts when the weather gets as warm as it is now. I have no preference between crew neck or V neck tee shirts but the other month I bought a few of their crew neck ones as the neck sits high up on the chest and so I like to wear these for when I go to work underneath my jacket and they always look smart but comfortable at the same time.
I bought one in white and one in black and they have been washed so many times now and they have really retained their shape and have not developed those dreaded “bobbles”. I tend to wash at forty degrees though I occasionally also wash them on a cooler wash.
They are definitely just basic looking tee shirts but they are so versatile as they can be either dressed up or down and occasionally I wear them on hot summer weekends with a pair of my light beige coloured shorts when I am in the garden.
The tee shirts cost £5 each but if you buy two of them you get a pound off so you get two for £9 which I consider to be really excellent value for money. They are super comfortable to wear and they come in a huge range of colours and sizes, to suit everyone’s needs and tastes.
They are just as good a quality as th eons I used to buy from Marks and Spencer and cost a lot less.
I really recommend them.
Whilst out shopping I decided to go into Dorothy Perkins as they had a huge sale on. I came across this basic t-shirt and thought it would be ideal for work, as I have to wear all black. I'm a big fan of Dorothy Perkins, as they have never let me down so I knew the quality of the T-shirt would be brilliant.
As you can see from the picture the Tee is a very basic, simple black crew neck t-shirt. It has short sleeves which cover your shoulders and give a little room underneath your arm, so there is no rubbing or irritation. The length is perfect to wear with leggings, as it covers my bum. It is made from 100% cotton, is machine washable and is fine to be ironed.
I bought this in the sale at a fantastic price only £2.50, its original price is £5 and also comes in an offer, 2 £5 tops for £9. I think £2.50 is very reasonable for the high quality you are receiving. Sizes available are 6-18. I got a size 8, which fitted perfectly.
There is a wide range of colours available:
* Blue (two difference shades)
I was extremely pleased with this top, as it was very comfortable to wear especially under my arms. I tend to have a problem with tee's, the reason why I usually go for vests or spaghetti strapped top. My underarms tend to irritate and become really red and itchy when I wear anything with sleeves longer than the size of vest top straps. I was pleased to find that it wasn't very tight under my arms so allowed my skin to breath. Its also great for the really hot days, as you don't become to sweaty and having to reapply deodorant all day to keep on top of it which is also fantastic! I love the length as it covers half of my bum, so I can just get away with wearing leggings, which is a main staple in my wardrobe. I have found that I wear this top outside of work as well, so I decided to go back and went for the offer and got two tee's this time, one black and one yellow.
The top is very soft to the touch and feels great against your skin. I also like the fact that the crew neck is high, so no cleavage is shown, which is perfect if you want to look professional and smart. The tee is figure hugging, but quite stretchy so its not uncomfortable. It is very versatile, goes which pretty much anything which is another bonus. It washes very easily, I've washed it a few times now and has remained the same size and shape which is excellent. This top is really great quality and a wardrobe must have.
Overall this tee is fantastic for the price and the quality. I would recommend this as it is a great top and the colours are beautiful! Very basic and simple but the black one is perfect if you want to look smart and casual!
I'm not a huge fan of T shirts, and if i do where them i like them to have slogans or pretty patterns on, but was in need for a plain t shirt for a new job (bar maid.) I looked around, mainly noticing that many t shirts seem to be quite slouchy looking, and eventually chose this one, as it's nice fitting aswell as been nice and simple with no fancy detailing to it. It's basically a plain black, crew neck t shirt - just as the title says! I got it in the Dorothy Perkins sale (instore) for £2.50 - half the price of its original price tag - £5.
It's a very, very basic t shirt. Nothing what so ever special about it and it's very versatile. It's ideal to go with black trousers or black jeans, i wear mine with a black bodycon and black heels or simple black trousers to work but it'd look nice with any outfit really because it's so plain - you can't go wrong! Adding accessories, like a nice bracelet, necklace or just a denim or leather jacket really adds a bit of personality to it but it's not the sort of top you'd wear to go clubbing.
The t shirt comes just above my bum so it's not the sort to wear with leggings. The sleeves aren't as long as most t shirts and fit nicely so they don't flap around or get in the way. The crew neck is quite high and doesn't show off any cleavage at all, i find it sometimes rides up a bit and gets slightly tight around my neck and i have to keep pulling it down.
The t shirt is quite stretchy and tight. It's made from 100% cotton and has a nice, soft feel to it. It's not uncomfortable in the slightest and i wear mine regulary as it's versatile and a quick and easy outfit when matched with jeans or smart trousers.
Looking after the t shirt isn't an issue as it's machine washable and fine to be ironed.
Sizes available start at a 6 and go up to an 18. (UK) I'm a size 8 and got an 8, i've found it to be quite well fitting/clingy but i think it's supposed to be.
Personally i'd reccomend it. It's nothing special but it's a wardrobe must have for anyone who wants to look smart but casual!
Even though I like to wear tops with lots of nice patterns and detail on them there are also days where I just feel like I want to wear something plain and quite basic. I don't wear black a lot but there are days now and again where I just feel like putting something dark on, if I'm in a miserable mood that day, like this black crew neck tee from Dorothy Perkins. I bought it ages ago, and have it in white as well. It costs £5 or you can also buy it as part of an offer which is 3 tops for £12, which makes it only £4, a very reasonable price in my opinion.
This top is quite plain and basic, and some people might say it is very boring, but it is great for work and similar occasions. For college I wear it with either light or dark skinny jeans, and a denim jacket or grey cardi over the top, and to make it look a bit less boring I will also put on some jewellery and maybe add a few nice accessories to make the outfit seem more exciting.
The top is made from 100% cotton and feels really soft on the skin. It is very comfortable to wear. It is also machine washable, its best to wash this at 40', it is iron safe and tumble dryer safe as well.
The only thing I don't really like about this top is the neck, as it feels quite tight for me, only when I take the tee on or off, as I'm used to tops with necks a bit lower, and the neck on this is one quite high up, which some people might see as an advantage but for me I would prefer it a tiny bit lower, it can wreck your hair when you take it on or off you see!
But overall I think this is a really good t-shirt, and I would happily recommend it. It is very soft and comfy, machine washable, and priced very reasonably at just £5.
