“ Brand: Dorothy Perkins / Type: Top / Clothing Class: Casual Wear / Gender: Female „
Last year I went on a huge shopping spree to stock up on clothes for winter. I bought this top at the end of last year as I thought it would look great with my favourite pair of dark jeans and would look nice tucked in. I have seen a lot of peter pan collar type tops and dresses, but didn't think they would suit me. When I saw this is Dorothy Perkins I fell in love with it straight away and just had to buy it. This top had long slightly floaty sleeves and I love the contrast in colours cream and black, as it goes hand in hand with each other. I also love the style of the collar which makes the top look really sophisticated. I love the sleeves as it makes it look really feminine and girly. It is machine washable and is made from 100% Polyester. I have washed plenty of times and the colour and shape have remained the same, which is brilliant seeing as I've nearly had it a year. You can wear this top casually or dress it up with some nice black heels and a skirt. I prefer to wear it more casually with cream flats and tucked into dark blue or black skinny jeans. It doesn't need much jewellery as the collar is high up, but I do like to wear a nice pair of diamond or pearl studs just to add a little glam to it. I'm surprised how good it looks on me, as I was worried about it. I bought this top for £29.50 which I think is a reasonable price for Dorothy Perkins as it is a higher brand of clothes compared to New Look or Peackcocks ect. The sizing is very accurate. As I'm a size 8 it fits perfectly around the arms, my chest and has room around my stomach to move. Overall I find this top absolutely gorgeous, flattering, really feminine and I'm really pleased with how it looks on me. I do not think its available any more in Dorothy Perkins, but I have seen very similar styled tops like it, so keep an eye out if your interested.
I have seen these Peter Pan style collars on tops and dresses a lot on the high street lately. At first I wasn't sure I was too keen on the trend, but the more I saw it the more it grew on me, and eventually when I saw this cream and black peter pan collar top in Dorothy Perkins a few weeks ago I thought, why not, and I just bought it. It cost £29.50 but was a bit cheaper for me as I had a voucher. (It is also currently 15% off on their website, but for a limited time only and I don't know when this offer ends, so hurry if you want to buy this!) I think this price is reasonable especially considering the recent VAT increase. This is the sort of price you would normally expect to pay for a top like this one from Dorothy Perkins, River Island and Topshop, which are sort of the higher end of the high street, well they are out of the shops in my nearest town anyway. This top is made from 100% polysester and is machine washable. I have seen similar tops to this one which are dry clean only, so this for me this being machine washable is an advantage. I have washed it a few times by the way, and the quality is just as good afterwards. I love the colour contrast between the cream and the black. I think it looks a bit 60s style, which is one of my favourite fashion eras. I also really love how the sleeves look quite floaty, which I think is really pretty and feminine. The whole design of the top in my opinion looks girly yet sophisticated. I think it would look suitable for work, but at the same time it can be worn as casual wear for the weekends and holidays. I think it looks best with jeans and heels, and I would probably wear it with these to go out for a meal one evening. I would not need too much jewellery because of the peter pan collar, but perhaps I would just add some sparkly earrings to catch the light and a nice matching bracelet. Overall I really like this top, both on and off, and would recommend it. You can see more views and zoom in to it on the Dorothy Perkins website. I think the price is reasonable, it is fairly comfortable to wear, and I like the style so for me this is a good buy.
