      A fun cable patterned sweater

Like most girls I love clothes, and I managed to snag a few excellent bargains in the January sales this year thanks to some patience and good planning! I'd had my eye on this Cable Print Sweat from Dorothy Perkins for a little while and was waiting in case it got reduced and this paid off in my favour. Originally costing RRP £26.00, it was cut down to £15.00 in the sales and I managed to get a further 15% off by using a discount code, so I paid only £12.75 for this sweater - what a bargain! You can buy from Dorothy Perkins high street stores, or online at www.dorothyperkins.com.

Product description: "This long sleeve longline sweat features a gorgeous foil cable print that adds a little metallic glamour to the look. With 3/4 length sleeves and a classic crew neck, this sweat would look great layered over a shirt."

This sweater is available in a wide range of size, from UK 8 - UK 22. I am a UK 10 but after seeing photos on the website of how the item looked on a model the same height as me, I decided to buy the same size and went down one to a UK 8. This turned out to be a good decision, as the body of the sweater has a slightly loose fit and even though I'm wearing one size smaller than normal it still has a relaxed, comfortable feel to it and looks exactly as I pictured it would. The dolman sleeves are a flattering 3/4 length and nicely fitted around the elbows to create a slimming effect, and also help to balance out the more flowing body section. The sweater fits really well and is slightly longer at the back which gives a casual look, and on a practical note is great to wear with low-cut jeans to provide a bit more coverage.

What drew my attention to this sweater was the graphic cable print. This is very bold and eye catching, and being a keen knitter I thought it was a fun touch to have a printed cable pattern rather than the cable design being knit into the sweater itself. The sweater is only available in one colour option, brown, and the shade is quite a light milky colour, what I would call fawn or taupe. This neutral shade is really versatile and looks good with many other colours; I've worn this with black, khaki and burgundy coloured jeans and they all look equally good. The shade also means that the cable print stands out against the plain background. The cable pattern is further embellished by foil printed highlights in a coppery/golden colour which is a nice decorative touch and helps to add some contouring to make the pattern really look 3-D. The fabric is a very fine knit material which creates a lightweight garment and is suitable for wearing through most of the year as it can be worn with layers for extra warmth.

The sweater is made of 60% Polyester, 28% Cotton, 12% Viscose, and is machine washable. I put this in with my usual eco wash cycle on 30 degrees and it comes out just fine, although I would strongly advise some caution due to the metallic foil effect. This type of detailing can be damaged or worn away when washing on a high temperature and will most probably be ruined if you tumble dry it - speaking from experience here, this has happened to me before with another top! :(

I think this Longline Cable Print Sweat is a flattering, easily wearable piece of clothing. The pattern is cute and adds a fun touch to any outfit. Recommended for anyone who loves their knitwear, the pattern is a neat twist on traditional cable knitted designs.
