“ Brand: Dorothy Perkins / Type: Vest „
I was in need of a wardrobe update, and so being a student on a very tight budget, I knew that Dorothy Perkins was probably the best place to go in order to buy some new items. This top cost £15, which I do think is expensive especially when compared to the vests that you can get for around £3 from New Look and similar shops.
The design is very pretty and I love it's holiday theme; the vest consists of a navy blue colour with 'creamy coloured' palms (tops of the palm trees). It's a simple yet effective design and very eyecatching.
The vest is a good shape; it's not too revealing at all. It has a high-ish neck and a high back and the shoulder straps are thick (and not flimsy) so they won't full down. When wearing this top the only parts revealed are your arms (however you can wear a cardigan over it). This would make a great vest for work.
Top is available in sizes 6-22. Mine is a size 14 (I am size 14-16 on top) and it fits me perfectly; it isn't too loose or too tight.
I tend to wear black jeans quite a lot and so I was after something 'cheap' and 'cheerful' to go with them. This vest is quite versatile as it goes well with black jeans and a long cardigan, however it will also go well with a skirt or shorts in the summer.
The vest is of good quality; it's not like the cheap vests you get from Primark and H&M which rip easily. The material is quite strong, yet not so strong that it is clingy (as I hate clingy tops!).
The top is machine washable. I have seen with some products from Dorothy Perkins (especially their black jeans) when you wash them for the first time, they instantly lose their colour. However, this top was ok and didn't lose it's colour after washing.
I would definitely recommend this vest!
