I have a few pairs of these fleecy socks from Florence and Fred at Tesco because they are just so cosy and comfortable to wear. They always have them in stock with different colours available at different times.
They are only £4.50 so work out at £2.25 per pair which is a good price for them. The socks are made of a fleecy material but they aren’t too thick and aren’t designed to be used as slipper socks because they have no anti slip tread on the bottom of them.
I just use them as normal socks when the weather is cold because they feel so cosy on my feet so I wear them with shoes or trainers. They are ankle height socks and the colours are a bit bright so they aren’t really socks that I would want seen so I wouldn’t wear them with skirts or shorts but with jeans or trousers you can’t see them so even with a really smart work look I can still wear comfy socks.
They have elastic on the top of them to keep them up and they do stay in place well but the elastic isn’t tight and it doesn’t cut into my ankles. They are quite long lasting socks too even though they are cheap and they wash well and don’t go holey or threadbare after only washing them a couple of times.
These are really cosy and comfy feeling socks and are lovely to wear when it is cold outside because they just help to keep your feet feeling a bit warmer.
I can't stand cold feet so I do buy quite a few pairs of nice cosy socks. As I do most of my shopping in Tesco I have bought quite a few pairs of these and have paid from £1.50 up to £3.00 for two pairs. The last ones I bought were plain pink, and pink, green and white in a stripy pattern. I wear them around the house as slippers and love to wear them in bed on a cold night, however I usually end up throwing them out the bed after about ten minutes as my feet are definitely toasty by then.
The socks really do feel soft to the touch and slip onto my feet very easily. They are one size which usually means that they fit sizes 3-8. I am a size 5 and they are plenty big enough for me to wiggle my toes and feel very comfortable and I would describe them as a slouchy comfortable pair of house socks. I don't like my feet to feel constricted so these are perfect for me. Personally I wouldn't wear these outside the house unless I was wearing them under boots in the winter but for inside the house they are perfect. The top of the sock is elasticated and is just right to keep the socks up without feeling too tight around my ankle. The socks are not particularly shaped but this doesn't really matter as I wouldn't think anyone would wear them with tight shoes.
They didn't come in a packet or box which is great as it saves the environment on packaging, and just came tied with a pretty pink ribbon which I threw away but if you were a 'crafty' person you could maybe use it for decorating something with. I have bought these for my mom and also my daughter and they both love them and wear them a lot.
I wash them at 30 degrees along with other washing and can say that the colour has never ran and they wash very well. They haven't faded or gone out of shape at all and I have washed them a lot of times. I would recommend these fleece socks as they are easy and comfortable to wear and come in a wide range of colours to suit everyone's taste. If you can get them for £1.50 they are fantastic value and well worth buying to keep in your sock drawer for when the weather gets a bit colder.
I love cosy socks either on their on or inside slippers and back in February I spotted the F&F Pack of 2 Fleece Socks in my local Tesco while I was doing my shopping, they were reduced down to £1.50 from £3.00 so I picked a pack up.
The socks didn't come in any real packaging but they had a ribbon tied around them which made them look nice especially if you are giving them as a gift to someone. The Fleece Socks were available in several colours and designs but opted for the cream and pale pink ones.
The socks are made from a lovely fleece material that feels really soft and cosy and despite the socks being light the material feels quite thick. There's not an awful lot of shape to these socks but the elastic around the top is tight enough to stop them falling down but doesn't leave a red line around my ankle.
The seams inside the toes are quite noticeable but in no way uncomfortable I hated seams in socks when I was little and would turn them inside out but this one isn't too bad.
Theres no real sizing with these they are just a "one size fits all" item.
Since I've had my fleece socks I've had so much wear out of them, in my opinion they aren't socks to wear under jeans to go out unless you've got boots on. I've worn mine under wellies when I take my niece and nephew for a walk and for this they are ideal but my favourite time to wear these is either after work or in the evenings. When the weather was cooler they were so soft and warm to slip on either on their own or inside slipper boots and personally if my feet are warm I'm happy I hate having cold feet. I have also slept in these too when the weather has been really cold.
As I mentioned I have had my F&F Fleece Socks since February and they have been washed more times than I can remember, I usually do mine on a 30 or 40 degree wash and although the fleece material isn't as fluffy as it was and has gone a bit flat in places the socks remain soft and warm and have kept their shape.
I have been very pleased with my F&F Fleece Socks and will be looking out for them again this year, at full price they are definitely worth the money and would make a great stocking filler too.
When winter comes I love a thick cosy pair of socks - my feet are always cold and slippers just aren't enough. I sometimes end up sleeping in socks too, as glamorous as that sounds, as getting up in the night for the toilet/to see to my son led to cold feet. Therefore, I usually end up buying a few new pairs each winter - and often find a pair or two in my Christmas stocking too!
Last year, I purchased four pairs (in two packs of two pairs) from Tesco. Their clothing section is always a danger when I do my weekly shop and I figured a couple of pairs of socks wouldn't break the bank. Even better was that these were on offer at the time for £2 a pack (usually £3.50), so that worked out as a pound a pair. One set were a plain green pair and the other pair were green, light green and white horizontal stripes. The other set had a plain pink pair and a pink pair with cream hearts on. In truth, there is not much that 'goes' with these socks - they certainly don't complete any outfit - but that isn't really the purpose of them.
The socks feel soft and fleecy to the touch. The inside of the sock is soft and warm but not as 'luxurious' feeling as the outer of the sock feels. Nevertheless they are very comfortable to wear. I have quite big feet (size 7-8) and these are only available in one size but they do fit me well. They are comfortable and the toes and heel sit where they should so, although I would say my feet are definitely on the upper limit size-wise for these socks, they definitely fit. I have worn these over the winter and they have not worn into holes - which I would expect (especially in the toe region) if they were too small. The top is elasticated and this keeps the sock up well.
I have washed my socks numerous times at 40 degrees and they have washed up well. They have maintained their softness and thickness and the colours have not faded at all. The elastic has also remained fully in tact too. I would say that these socks are great value, warm and very cosy - a fun stocking filler that is practical too - perfect!
I love bed socks, my husband always jokes that I wear more clothes to bed than I do during the day but I hate having cold feet and I can never sleep if I have cold feet so bed socks it is for me.
For around the house and when I am in bed my favourite type of sock to wear is a fleece sock. They are extremely warm and nice and comfortable but what I also like is that they are not really tight, they are a looser type of sock so they do not make my feet feel suffocated, just nice and warm and cosy.
Tesco sell a wonderful pack of two pairs of fleece socks which are tied together with a nice pretty ribbon so they look nice initially in the shop. This makes them nice if you like to give socks as a present at Christmas, I just think its a nice way of displaying them and they catch my eye more than a pair in a cardboard box would.
I have numerous pairs and have bought them for quite a few years now. At the moment I have set where one pair is a light brown solid colour and the other is white with brown and pink colours on them and then the other set I have is a solid pair of purple socks and a solid pair of pink socks.
What I love about these socks is that they are made of a really soft fleece. Some fleece socks can be a bit scratchy but you can actually feel the smoothness of these socks as soon as you put them on and the nice thing is that even after you wash them they still retain their softness.
The socks fit well and more importantly stay up on my leg well although they do have a slouchy fit to them. They have a bit of elasticity to them at the top so this helps to keep them up too.
One word of warning, when I first wore the brown pair a lot of fleecy extra bits of material that were hiding in the toe section came out and went all over my bedroom floor. This happened for a few wears after I bought them so there was obviously some excess fleece but they don't drop bits any more.
The two pairs of socks cost only a few pounds and do last for several months of daily wear before they start getting holes in the toes so these are a pair of fleece socks I definitely recommend.
F&F 2 Pack Fleece socks
I took my daughter to Lapland in December, holiday of a lifetime, but not the price! As we had booked the holiday 12 months in advance we had been bargain hunting all year for items that we would need.
In the summer sale, I saw a pack of these socks for £1, they were reduced from £3.50.They were hand tied with ribbon, I ended up buying the lot, (4 packs). The ones that we had were a pink and cream socks, I'm guessing they were left over from Xmas stock and found, so hit the bargain section.
They are a size 4 to 7 adult ladies. My daughters size 4, and I am a size 6.
The socks are slightly longer than ankle socks, and are really fluffy and warm, they have a elastic cuff at the top of the sock, this is quite a lose fitting, it didn't cut in to either of our feet. the socks are really stretchy,
As the main purpose of buying them was for the holiday, we kept them for that, they were so warm, and comfortable to wear, we ended keeping the plain pair for the snow boots, as with the weather being so cold your layering up, I had thermal tights, my daughter had thermal leggings, then normal socks, then fluffy socks on top, even though they were stretched over two other layers they soon went back to their normal shape.
=How did they wash=
40C machine wash and the socks were back to sweet smell, they washed well, dried quite quickly and kept their fluffy nature.
They have been earning their money as there now a cross between my sleeping socks and my feet are cold I want comfort. They've been wore most days and nights and they still look as good as new.
=Would I recommend=
If you can pick them up in the sale even better, but even at £3.50 for the two pairs they are really good value.
Every year I get my daughter socks for Christmas, so when I saw these in Tesco's Summer Sale for a £1 for two pairs (they were usually £3 so a bargain) I bought them and put the away.
Her particular pairs' are pink and cream and came tied with a ribbon so looked posh. A quick look on Tesco.com shows them in green and that they are now retailing at £3.50. The website doesn't tell us what they're made of only that they are 'fashioned from fleecy stretch material'- they do stretch to fit nice and snug on my daughters feet. They come in one size and are ankle length. The elasticated cuff is not too tight but tight enough to keep the socks up.
These are lovely comfy socks I know this because I pinch them off her!!! They're great under my wellies and boots. My daughter wears them instead of slippers and also in bed as her feet are ~always cold~. I think they're hard wearing, the heels and toes haven't worn yet with quite alot of use. I've washed them loads but they're still pretty much as 'fluffy' as they were when I bought them, the elastic around the cuff is still good too and they haven't faded. They're not as slippery underfoot as normal socks so an advantage with us having wood flooring.
I think these will find they're way into the Christmas Stocking again this year!!
I actually got these socks last year during the colder weather as i was in need of a warm, comfy pair.
As soon as i saw these fleece socks on the display rack in my local Tesco, i picked them up after having a quick feel and after seeing how beautifullly soft and fluffy they were, put them straight into my basket - really loved them at first sight, plus it was a bargain not to miss out on! They're pretty much like slipper socks without the grip on the bottom.
The first thing that drawed me to them, if i'm honest was the price. For such high quality, super soft socks like these i was more than happy to hand over £3 for 2 pairs. They're also really bright coloured, which catches attention and have various patterns; stripey, plain, spotty, etc. I chose the plain pink which is a lovely bright shade.
Once home i put them straight on as my feet were chilly; i felt a difference straight away and they were so cosey - they're like pyjamas for your feet! They add warmth too and just generally are nice and cosey. The fleece adds a fluffy effect which adds a girly, cute look to them and they're easy to walk around in. My flat has wooden floor; a nightmare when wearing vicose or any other slippery material socks, but these grip slightly better although slippy when not walking carefully on slippy surfaces and as there's no grip you won't catch me running around on my wooden floor in them!
I'd reccomend them. Soft, cosey, warm, girly; there's not much else you could want from a pair of socks, and considering the high quality (i've had mine since late last year and i've worn and washed them to death and although they're not quite as fluffy they're still nice and soft), they're worth every penny - even leaving you plenty of change from a fiver.
I Was doing my weekly shopping in Tesco and after walking in the snow my feet were so cold so when I walked past a rack with these fleece socks on I just could not resist. There were two pairs to a pack for £3 and as soon as I picked them up I fell in love. They were a very soft and fluffy material and I was sure once on my feet they would be instantly warming. The colours I chose was a lovely warm pink with a light pink mixed. My second pair contained two cream and a light brown colour mixed in together they looked so girly and attractive.
As I said my feet were so cold so when I returned home and put the shopping away I decided to give these socks a whirl! As I put the on my feet I noticed the insides were so much different to the outside soft but at the same time they had a little scratch to them. This only seemed to be at my toes and the lining at the top of the socks. Saying that within a minute of having them on my feet warmed up so fast. They were extremely comfy and light on my feet keeping them lovely and snug.
While walking around the house you could see that these were just fluffy socks and in no way intended to be slipper socks as there is just no grip. While walking on my laminate flooring I did a few times have to stop myself from falling and make myself aware to be careful. There is no way I could ware these with shoes as they are too thick so this is the only place it lets them down they are a little impractical.
I would recommend these if you have carpeted house or somewhere you need a little less grip. They are comfy and after a few washes that itch has softened up and I love to put these socks on to keep me warm while I'm just lounging around. A great investment for these cold winter nights but they are by no means slipper socks. Sizes come in small or large I brought the small which fitted a size 4 feet perfect.
I'd been searching for a pair of slippers recently as my feet are getting stupidly cold in this current weather. Despite visiting a large number of shops I couldn't find any appropriate slippers - I wanted something like a slip on shoe but all I could find were ones with no back (ok so my heel will be cold - kind of defeats the point!) or boot type ones which were too expensive. The last place I looked was tesco and finding the slipper situation the same there I decided I'd have to go down the route of slipper socks instead.
Now I don't think these are actually slipper socks - they simply say fleece socks on the packaging and don't have rubber bits on the base to prevent slippage. Even so these were the only warm looking socks in Tesco so I purchased some - they come in packs of 2 for £3 and there are several different colour options to choose from (mine were a pink pair and a stripey pair, there were also some brown and white ones but I thought the white would discolour quickly).
Fleece is, I would say, an accurate description of these socks - they're incredibly soft, fluffy and they feel excellent next to the skin. The tops aren't elasticated any more than the rest of the socks so they aren't tight around the ankles but they still stay up. The whole sock itself has alot of give in it and should be able to fit a large number of sizes - I'm a size 8 and they're not too small for me.
When I got home after buying these I put a pair straight on and I have to say I was a bit disappointed - I was expecting the fleecy material to be very warm, but in all honesty I didn't find these much more warming than regular socks. Since then I have worn them to work inside my boots as I found my feet were getting cold in the mile walk I take from my car to work - here they seemed more effective (possibly due to the additional layer helping to trap warm air in the fibres of the socks?)
My main issue with these socks though is that they leave fluff absolutely everywhere - several weeks after buying these I still keep finding fluff on the carpet which is really hard to hoover up, I also have fluff on the inside of my shoes and on whichever clothes I wash at the same time as the socks!
Overall these aren't bad socks but there are better ones out there - these feel great against your skin but fluff everywhere and not being as warm as they look lets them down. Personally I wouldn't buy these again and my search for a decent pair of slippers continues.
