Advantages: Cheap, cosey, warm, looks good, easy to style
Disadvantages: Only 1 button, useless belt
I spotted this in Tesco around a month ago while stocking up on some new winter clothes. My local Tesco only had the dark one but I loved the look of it. It is quite long so I was worried it might make me look shorter than I am seeing as I'm only 5'3 but I tried it on quickly and fell in love - it's soooo cosey!
Another thing I was initially worried about besides the length was the belt. I thought that it might make the cardigan look a bit like a dressing gown to be honest but it really doesn't. The cardigan actually looks really good quality and expensive despite how cheap it is - it is only £14.00 which is why I decided to buy another one. Because of the price I was a little skeptical on how good the quality would actually be and I thought that it may be awkward to wash but it is genuinely amazing quality and after 4 or 5 washes in the washing machine it is not bobbly or anything.
There are two colours available - a very dark charcoal grey which almost looks black and a very light
beige one. Both are flecked - the dark one has greyish white flecks and the light one has white flecks. I have both and I love both colours but I prefer the beige one slightly as it goes better with my pale skinny jeans but both colours are very versatile. The design of the cardigan is quite unusual and it's a big, heavy knit. The cardi has got a large collar with two kind of flaps of material which sit on my shoulders. These keep my neck area extra warm and I usually fold the back down so that it looks a little like a scarf at the top.
The cardigan only has one button which is designed to do the funnel neck up and the cardigan has a belt. This is the first and only disadvantage - the belt is useless! It is too big, doesn't stay tied and slips out of the belt loops. It also sits more on my hips than on my waist and it looks kind of awkward, so I either use another belt or just wear the cardi open over a nice jumper or tee shirt. The cardi has two large pockets which are deep and secure enough to hold my phone. The cardi is very long on me - around knee length.
It has the potential to look very frumpy but because I wear mine with leggings or skinnies with it hanging open it just looks really cosey and oversized. I was going to get this in my usual size 8 but found it too tight and in the end I got a size 12 so that it'd be oversized and easy to just sling on. It looks a bit like a coat because of the length but it's a shame that it doesn't do up. The material is soft, thick and cosey. It's acrylic but feels like wool even after being washed.
Overall I highly recommend this cardigan. It is excellent value for money, good quality and versatile as well as warm and comfy. I knock one star off though as it has no buttons and the belt is pretty useless.
Summary: An absolute bargain. I love it!
