      Advantages

      Disadvantages

This is a very nice gypsy skirt that I am happy to wear

      WHAT IS IT?

A long gypsy skirt from the Florence & Fred clothes range in Tesco.

      THE DESIGN

Florence & Fred make different gypsy skirts every year, I have got one of last years and bought one a month ago also that is very different and a nicer style than the one I bought last year.  The one I have got is white but when I bought it I saw a black skirt in the same design.  It is ankle length and is lower than my ankle bone but you can fold the top of the skirt over to shorten it a little bit more.

The skirt has got two layers of underskirt and a longer layer of lace at the outside of the skirt.  The lace is very pretty and has got a flowery pattern across it, the front of the waistband is a flat panel and I like that because it flattens a tummy down if you wear it on a day where you're feeling bloated but the back of the waistband is elasticated so that the same size will fit many different shaped women.  I am petite and think the skirt is a little bit too long for me but as long as I wear it with heeled shoes the length does not look terrible, it is a shame I cannot wear it with flats or sandals though because they would suit the casual look of the skirt better.

      WHAT I THINK

I think this skirt is very comfortable but there are no choices of length so I think it will be too long for some women.  It will fit if you are average height or taller but not if you are very much smaller than average, I was happy to see a lot of sizes available from a size 10 to sizes that are a lot bigger.  The biggest size I saw was a size 22 and that is good because larger ladies would suit this skirt very well because of how flared it is and it will hide lots of fat parts of your body.

It is very easy to put with a top and looks just as nice if you wear a vest top or something with a bit more style.  You should try to wear a top that is fitted to your body because of how wide the skirt is, it is not shapeless but it will make you look heavier if you wear a heavy hanging top also.  I wore it with a bikini top on holiday and the white of the skirt showed off my tan but it is not the coolest gypsy skirt to wear because of the heavy underskirt lining.

      ANYTHING ELSE

This gypsy skirt costs £20 and that is value because I have washed it many times now and it is still bright white and the shape has not changed at all.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Nice skirt, well made and worth £16.00 in my opinion!

Recently I have been purchasing a lot of new clothes. I got sick of seeing me in the same clothes and took action...... got rid of the lot and decided to start all over again almost from scratch! I knew what I wanted clothes wise and went out armed with pennies to Tesco, Asda and Matalan as I feel that they all offer incredible value for money.

A couple of years ago I remember Gypsy skirts being very in fashion. Suddenly they were no longer cool so I was surprised to see alot of Gypsy skirts available in Tescos at £16.00 each recently in different colours and of varying designs.

I spotted this black one and liked the simplicity and versatility of it, knew I could wear it daytimes with a vest top but that I could equally doll it up a bit for lazy summer evenings to go to the beach-side pubs in (if I so desired too lol).

        The Skirt Itself:

Well this is a black skirt and rather see through being made from 100% cotton and only one layer of material. No length is stated on the skirt label but I'm almost 5.9 and its to my ankles, so long it is! Having a creased look all over it, this doesn't need ironing so easy to care for it is too and its fully machine washable and tumble dry safe.

The waistband is incredibly stretchy and rather deep but very comfortable. I am usually a size 10 but luckily I tried this on first in the changing rooms in store and found that the size 10 was way too generous in size for me and went for the size 8 and still feel that it is a bit big on me so this could be a great pregnancy skirt if you need one!

No zips, buttons or ties, you simply get a three tiered in style skirt, slightly flary and swishy to the bottom but elegantly so.

I have had absolutely no issues with this skirt at all. Its thin and so washes and dries easily, Ive had no colour fade and don't even need to iron it before popping it on! Looks stylish, is long in length and for £16.00 a skirt I think its a really nice quality item...just remember to wear big knickers under this as you can see straight through it (or simply buy an underskirt lol).

Only available from Tesco in sizes 8-24 but on www.tescodirect.com only a couple of sizes are available to purchase at the moment.
