Disappointing quality, wouldn't last long in the real outdoors! (Fat face)

I started using Fat Face about 4 years ago, after visiting one of their stores whilst on holiday in Wales. Since then I have bought from them both online and in stores. They also have sections in some department stores, such as John Lewis.

Unfortunately, I don't rate the quality of Fat Face. I've had some excellent items, which have lasted a long time, such as a sweatshirt and some black cotton trousers. These I bought about 4 years ago. However, some of the items I have bought more recently haven't been so great. Last Autumn I bought some items by mail order which had to be returned, a top which had a hole in it and some boots which fell apart. I have found this with their boots, whilst they are quite well priced, they tend to have a lot of embellishments - studs, buckles etc. - which tend to fall off! I've had a few pairs of boots and they've been quite comfortable, but I would advise going to a store to try them on, as the fit varies a lot between styles.

I was in the Fat Face store last week and I do feel that their clothes are priced quite high for the quality. Their t-shirts and tops seem quite flimsy and some are priced upwards of £30, which is too much given the quality.

I keep going back to Fat Face as they actually make clothes that fit me! So often now, after having 2 children, I find that trousers don't fit me at all. I can usually find something here that fits.

Their customer services are good. When I've had to return faulty items they have been extremely helpful and apologetic!

If you're looking for outdoorsy-style clothes, I would look at Howies. They are more expensive than Fat Face and the range is smaller, but the quality is far far better.

Summary: Buy in the sales, don't pay full price.
