Free People Stretch Jersey Flare Trouser
I was looking for a comfortable pair of trousers to wear at weekends, and I especially wanted trousers which could be worn with heels so that I could wear them if I was out lunchtime/early evening.
I spotted these on the asos site and given that postage is free if willing to wait usually about three days, then these are worth trying out. They were originally priced at £65 but reduced to £19.50, so not a bad price for a pair of good quality trousers.
The trousers are made by Free People, and all of the clothes are available on www.freepeople.com. Free People was founded in the 1970s and produce a range of dresses, trousers, skirts, accessories etc, and are all quite bohemian with an eclectic match of vintage and festival type clothes.
The trousers are made from 100% polyester and as such are machine washable and need only alight iron to have them looking good as new. They are flared which means that they are wide enough for boots to be worn underneath but because of the style they look equally as good with sandals for a more boho look. They are a grey marl colour which is nice as they are not one block colour making them look more fluid and less work like, whilst the rivet detailing on the legs makes them smart if a less casual look is wanted. . The high wide waistband is flattering and the elasticated waistband makes them very comfortable even after eating a large meal! ,whilst I find that sometimes side pockets can make trousers less streamlined the pockets of these trousers sit close to the side as do the two back pockets adding detail but still allowing the trousers to look tailored.
I have a size 8 in the trousers and they are true to size although with the stretch in the fabric, they would fit a size 10. However, its still probably best to get the correct size or the trousers could look a bit too stretched out. With an inside leg length of about 33/34" they are plenty long enough for me at 5'5" to wear with heels.
These trousers have proved to be a really useful buy. I have worn them several times with heeled shoes and boots and they look good with a chunky drapey belted cardigan or alternatively tops with loose sleeves. In the very brief period of warmer weather I wore the trousers with flat sandals and they looked equally as good just much more relaxed; I will certainly get a lot of wear out of them during the summer months.
The material is very soft and they are incredibly comfortable to wear.
A recommended pair of trousers which could be worn on different occasions.
