Advantages: ha ha hee hee, they said a naughty word
Disadvantages: just kidding about the above
There's something about this shop that niggles me. I have valid reasons for my dislike of it too - just coming to those - but there's an extra something annoying that I can't put my finger on. I think maybe it's that it has no real identity apart from the rearranged swearword thing. Anyway... The first thing I don't like about French Connection is their complete lack of originality. It is rare to see anything in there that is not white, grey or black (ooh, or beige. Or navy). If they were good quality 'key wardrobe pieces' then fair enough, but they are overpriced versions of things you can buy in the Top Shop basics section - plain office-type tops at £20-30 for example is too much (for as long as TS are selling them at £10 anyway). The second thing that bugs me is that ad campaign. It was a good idea to start with and I really mean that (it turned the company's fortune around), but every other 15 year-old on the street now is wearing a 'fcuk me' tee-shirt. Okay, when you're an adolescent it's almost excusable, but on twenty-somethings? If you find that kind of thing funny there's always the Benny Hill Show.

- 31/05/01 Couldn't agree more about those t-shirts, and some of the stuff in there....overoriced doesn't even come near!! Having said that I have got a few nice pieces from there, and the make-up is quite cool too. |

- 28/03/01 Very funny ending to the op! I'm proud to say I have never owned anything with the FCUK motto. Big mottos are so crude. People were wearing those tops 4 years ago I remember and they're still around? FC is over-priced. In a dazed, probably hungover state I once bought an extremely expensive pair of trousers from them. (They were beige!) I've worn them about twice! Completely impractical!
- Gamesmaster's a bit highly strung! Maybe he likes buying bad quality clothes with big crude motifs and ludicrous price tags. If he's going to go into "fashion", I advise Versace is a bit better than French Con.(!!) |

- 21/02/01 Moody and bitchy salespersons aside, the hems on my trousers from fc fell down just two days after purchase. I no like them. |
