“ George of Asda / Jersey 2 in 1 top „
This is another one of my recent Asda clothes purchases, I really should avoid the clothes aisle next time I'm doing my shopping! I've been struggling for work clothes recently, after having a clearout before winter then realising when the weather started getting better that I have nothing except jumpers to wear. The top costs £12, and is available in a few different colours and patterns including navy. This top is ideal for work, because it's smart looking, but also quite thin so you won't get uncomfortably hot in it in the summer. It also has long sleeves which I like, because readers of my cardigan review will know I hate the feeling of the cold desk on my arms as I'm typing, even when the weather is warm. The top is one of these two layered items, so it looks a bit like a vest with another top wrapped round it. It is an all-in-one top though, and I got a few comments the first time I wore it about how nice it looked. The vest part is black and white swirly patterns, and this is covered in a black bit of material which crosses over at the front. It's difficult to describe but it basically looks like the picture Dooyoo have uploaded. The top is really comfortable to wear, and I do feel like I look smart enough for work, but not so smart that everyone thinks I'm going for an interview elsewhere! It is low cut enough to reveal a bit of chest area, but not low enough for cleavage or looking like you're after a payrise or anything. The black material which crosses over is elasticated at the bottom, which allows it to sit nicely with whatever trousers you are wearing. The only slight annoyance is that the black crossover bit can sometimes gape open a little, and I find myself having to fiddle with it and pull it back to cover the swirly patterned bit. It's not a huge issue though, and certainly doesn't put me off wearing it because I love this top. This top would be suitable for winter or summer, because even though it has long arms it's a thin material, and it can be worn under a cardigan in winter. The top is made from 100% viscose and washes at 30 degrees. If you hang it up as soon as it comes out of the wash, you could probably get away without ironing it because the creases drop out when you put it on. But I wouldn't recommend leaving it scrunched up in a heap to dry as you'll have a nightmare ironing it - due to the delicate fabric it can only be ironed on a low temperature. This top is a very welcome addition to my work wardrobe, at least it makes it look like I'm making an effort, even when my heart's not really in it.
