“ Brand: Asda / Type: Tights „
I like wearing thicker tights in the winter and will usually wear them with a skirt and ankle boots as I think this can look quite stylish as well as keeping my legs warm. I do like George clothing as I have found that they are always good quality and very reasonable priced. I bought these black 300 denier opaque tights at my local Asda and paid £4.00 for them which is probably an average price for these sort of tights. They came in four sizes, small, medium, large and extra large and I chose the medium. I am probably in between the medium and the large for the width but I have bought the large size before and found that they were too long and I ended up with a 'Nora Batty' look at the end of the day so I went back to the medium. The tights come in cardboard packaging which is easily removable and tells you that they are made of 96 per cent nylon and 4 per cent elastane. I will just handwash them after wearing and find that they dry very quickly on the radiator or even just on the clothes airer. They feel quite thick and I have never snagged them with my nails when I am putting them on. Another measure for me is that if my toes don't poke through the toes they are good quality which these are, as I have worn them with some of my tighter pairs of boots and the toes have stayed intact. They have plenty of stretch when I am putting them on which is good as there isn't much room to spare with the medium ones, but once they are on they do stay where they are and I don't have to keep pulling them up at the waistband as I have had to do with some other makes. They have a lovely shiny look without having any transparency and they are thick enough to hide my hair if I have not shaved my legs for a few days. I have been very pleased with these tights and I am going to buy some more when I am next in Asda. They are very good quality, comfortable to wear and have not shown any signs of wear. I recommend these tights as a good everyday pair to wear with boots or shoes and which look stylish and also keep your legs warm.
I work part time in an office that has a smart dress code so I need to make sure that I am wearing something smart to work. Tops are easy because I have loads and can be a bit more adventurous with them but on the bottom half I usually just wear a black skirt or black trousers. In the summer I always wear my skirt with bare legs but in winter I need some extra warmth so wear tights. It also means that if I can't be bothered to do my legs it doesn't matter because no one can see them. In the past I have spent a fortune buying expensive tights but I discovered George from Asda tights and haven't bought an expensive pair since as these are better than nearly all other tights that I have ever bought for a fraction of the price. Depending on the weather and the outfit changes what denier that I wear but in winter it is usually a 300 denier which costs £4 a pair. The thicker denier really helps to keep my legs warmer and I think the thickness looks better with my skirt in winter. Obviously I would never wear a tight this thick for a night out but it looks professional and smart for work. They also have a really nice dark black colour and wash really well too. I have a few pairs but they have been washed and dried loads of times and they have retained their colour well and also they haven't become too bobbly and have no holes. They are also one of the best tights that I have ever had for not getting laddered. Nearly every other tight that I have bought has laddered within days but these seem to last for ages without laddering. Occasionally I will ladder a pair but it is few and far between. The tights come in a small, medium, large and extra large sizing and I have both the small and the medium ones and they both fit quite well. The smaller ones fit better but the medium ones aren't too big and don't go baggy around my knees. I have George tights now in all different colours and thicknesses because they are really great and I am really surprised with how good the quality is with them.
I wear tights frequently especially in winter and prefer to wear thick black ones as they are warmer and hide my very pale legs. I was recently in need of some new tights so decided to have a look in Asda as there George range of clothing is normally reasonably priced and I do not like to pay the earth for a pair of tights. I ended up purchasing a pair of the George Black 300 denier opaque tights for £4.00. I thought this was reasonable value as they are washable and with being so thick should not snag or ladder easily. These tights come packaged in a simple cardboard sleeve which displays the necessary information about the tights on the back including that they comprise of 96% nylon and 4% elastane and have a size guide which states that the tights are available in sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. I opted for the Medium size as although my height and waist size matched the Small sizing on the back of the wrapper I find that tights always seem to be smaller than they state and can fall down and be uncomfortable if not big enough. The tights are opaque and are thick enough to hide my milk bottle legs which really shouldn't be exposed to the public. They are smooth to the touch and have a matt finish which I prefer for everyday wear. Putting on these tights is quite easy and as they are so thick my long nails if caught do not snag or ladder them. The waistband is quite wide but I like this as I like to pull my tights up over my tummy so they feel comfortable and secure, it also helps my stomach look a little flatter too which is always a good thing. Also with these tights being so thick they are lovely and warm and even on cold days my legs have not felt at all cold. Although it states to only wash these tights by hand I have put mine in the washing machine on a 30 degree wash and have had no problems at all with them. My tights have now been washed several times and are still looking good with no ladders or holes. Overall I have been really impressed with these tights, they fit well, have washed well and have not yet laddered or had any holes appear. They are also warm and comfortable to wear and are great value. I would certainly purchase again and recommend.
It is important to me to make the effort when I go into work everyday and therefore I will often wear a skirt or smart dress to try and look more polished. During the winter months, my legs do get there fair share of cold weather, especially since I walk in to work and therefore I went on a hunt a couple of months ago for some reliable tights. I am not a huge fan of tights as I can find them uncomfortable or easy to ladder and therefore I didn't want to spend a fortune. As a result I went in to my local Asda store to see what they could offer. The tights which I was immediately taken with were these 300 denier opaque tights. The tights are black in colour and have a slightly opaque look although not so see through that they expose my hideously pale legs. These tights have a warmth rating of 1 which means they keep my legs quite warm and as a result I have been known to wear mine underneath my trousers on a particularly cold day. In terms of frilly details these tights are pretty functional and do not have any print or lace details however this was perfect for me, having wanted them to wear to work. The sizing for these tights is always something I have to read before purchasing as not only are tights sized according to the size of the waist band but also down to the height of the wearer. Being that I am quite tall I opted for a medium size for these tights and found this to be adequate for my frame however they also come in sizes small, large and extra large. For information the composition of these tights is 96% nylon and 4% elastane and they should be washed in a hand wash with other delicates rather than in the washing machine. It is always quite a mission in my opinion putting tights on and these particular beauties are on exception. I like to ensure that I put these on one leg at a time and roll each tight leg down in to a small ball before inserting over my foot and gradually working my way up the leg. There is inevitably quite a bit of wiggling around with these tights when you get to the crotch area where I find that these tights have an annoying habit of hanging a couple of centimetres below my crotch. Therefore further jiggery is required until they are smooth to my skin. Once on I find that these tights are comfortable and warm and give a polished look to my finished outfit which is certainly preferable to showing off my bare legs. I do seem to be quite hard on tights and I can never work out whether this is the result of having quite long finger nails which always seem to get hooked around the delicate fabric of the tights. However, these tights seem to have served me well in my few weeks of owning them and I have had on issues with them laddering or becoming holey. The only thing I would say about these tights is that it is important to wash them in a hand wash as advised as I have chucked mine in the washing machine a couple of times now on a low heat and have recently found that they are beginning to bobble which doesn't make for the nicest look. The price of these tights is £4 and they are available in Asda stores. This is a price which I think is good value for money and one which I would certainly pay again. As a result of my review I would have to recommend these tights and as a result they score a good four stars from me. I hope this review has been on some help and thanks for reading! x
For as long as I can remember I have always received weird birthday presents from people! One year I got a bottle of Acai juice another year a pink folder for no apparent reason and this year was slightly odd too. I received a medicine cabinet and a toilet roll holder...and these tights! I'm not complaining what with moving flats and needing stuff for it but the tights? Yep thats a tad odd though once again I am grateful and these are usually the ones I buy in Asda anyway! The Packaging: These hang up in the undie section of my local Asda store and around the tights there is a black and purple coloured cardboard section and on the front of that we are told that they are George Opaque Tights 300 Denier 'Thermal' and that they contain Lycra and cost £4.00 (for two pairs). On the back of that cardboard other information listed includes a size guide and the sizes that the tights are available to purchase in, the materials used are listed and contact details for Asda are given. Minimal packaging, this is though informative enough. The Tights: Available in just the black colour (as far as I am aware of) these are very thick (hence why they are referred to as thermal!) and very strong, rigid tights. In sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large its easy enough to guage the size you need on the back from the chart given which takes into account your height and hip size. Made from 96% Nylon and 4% Elastane, that alone backs up what I mean by rigid tights. They are not all that stretchy and giving which means you really do need to get the sizing right with these! However I love these tights and thats why I buy them often. Very thick and not see-through, they are a matt black thick finished and plain and smooth tight. Thy hold in me in slightly at the tummy and don't sag or give in that area, the seam is thick to the gusset and around the toes and they wash and tumble dry really, really well meaning I can get 10 wears at least from each pair! Being 300 Denier means that really are very thick. I mean they will snag or tear if your not careful but they are strong. Being so thick they keep my legs really snug and warm, perfect for colder days and evenings with dresses and the likes and I quite simply love em and highly recommend them to you! Only available from Asda.
