Advantages: soft material
Disadvantages: short, very big sizes
Most of the time at home I can be found wearing jazz or yoga pants, I do a fair amount of core stability exercises each day and like to be dressed for the regular bursts of activity so choose nice, flattering styles of trousers that don't look chavvy. However, I was persuaded to buy these George Basic Joggers from Asda Direct as they looked fine in the picture and had pretty good reviews. At £4 a pair I thought they'd be ok to wear some days.
When the joggers arrived they looked good in the packaging, the material felt nice and soft and I couldn't wait to try on my bargain purchase. The joggers are fully machine washable, 100% cotton so they let the skin breathe and should fit the size they are intended for. That's where it all starts to go horribly wrong though. I've since read some of the reviews on Asda's website and wondered if those people praising these joggers actually bought a different product. This is going to be a fairly short review as I can find next to nothing positive to say about these joggers.
Problem number one was the leg length. I'm only 5 foot 4 inches tall so there's absolutely no excuse for these to be so short! On my vertically challeged frame they skimmed the top of my ankle bones. Not like the picture so far where they were perfect length. Problem number two is the actual sizing. I bought a size 10 as I always do and frankly these felt closer to a size 14, they are way too roomy to just be considered generous. I checked the label and sure enough it was supposed to be a size 10. So they are baggy and too short. The drawstring couldn't save them either as it didn't cinch in enough to keep these on me and I'm not a small size 10 either. At £4 for these I admit I didn't bother to send them back and intended to wear them to decorate in but when it came to it they looked even too hideous for that so they got chucked in the bin!
These don't even deserve one star and unless you have an ego that needs kidding about your size and very short legs these are to be avoided. The reviews online astound me and please don't waste £4 of your hard earned cash on these. One star purely because I have to rate them and the only thing I did like about them was how soft the material felt. Had they been properly sized and long enough I'm sure I'd have stocked up.
