Advantages: Comfy, lightweight, warm, easy to exercise in, wash well
Disadvantages: Definitely not very fashionable!
I walk, swim & run as often as I can and I re-joined the gym during the summer in order to tone up a little more. I usually wear leggings for exercise, especially running as I find that they're lightweight and comfortable but seeing as the weather is getting colder by the day I decided to invest in a few new sports clothes including two pairs of joggers.
I'd actually been after a pair of joggers for a while but they all seemed overpriced and/or frumpy. I came across these particular joggers in the clothing section of my local Asda around a month ago and was impressed by the design considering how cheap they are - unlike a lot of joggers they don't have ridiculously wide, straight up straight down legs which makes them look a little nicer, although I still wouldn't wear them anywere other the gym/field!
These are only £5.00 each which I think is a really good price considering that they're good quality. There are a few different colours available including grey, navy and black. I wanted a grey pair as I thought that the black ones would look a little manly but seeing as the grey was out of stock in my size I ended up with two pairs of the navy ones. The design of the joggers is very plain and they don't have any stripe or logo detailing on them like a lot of the more fashionable joggers do but I don't find this a problem seeing as I bought these for comfort and warmth rather than style.
They also don't have any pockets which is worth mentioning. They have an elasticated waist and a shoe lace-like drawstring which put me off a little as cheap trousers tend to lose the elasticity in the waistband but after a month or regular wear and several washes the elasticated waist isn't baggy or anything. The joggers are pretty lightweight but despite this they're warm and thick. The material ( 85% cotton and 15% viscose) is soft and cosey and I find that they fit well meaning that they don't feel uncomfortable while I'm exercising.
Because they're a relaxed fit and a little baggy they do not feel at all restricting and I am able to move freely while running etc without them feeling tight etc and they stay on well when I'm on the epillator - I don't have to keep pulling them up or re-adjusting the drawstring as they don't ride down or anything which is something I was worried about as I don't often wear trousers with an elasticated waist but it fits well and isn't too baggy or too tight.
I got these in my usual size eight and they're a little baggy but not so baggy that they look slobby or silly. Sizes available are UK8-20 and they are available in men's sizes too. I'm 5'3 and they're just past ankle length on me meaning they don't drag along the floor or anything and they don't need rolling up. Although I mainly wear these for exercise they are comfortable enough to relax around the house in without looking too slobby.
Overall I would recommend these if you want a basic, comfortable pair of joggers as they're cheap and good quality.
Five out of five stars.
Summary: Ideal for exercise and relaxing.
