Advantages: Convenient, great on the pocket and fit well
Disadvantages: None!
Let me start off by saying that I normally shop at Tesco. But a couple of days ago I found myself in the local Asda shopping with my sister. I hadn't set foot in Asda for years and I my experiences were not good.
Wow - what a change! They have a great selection of clothing in the George section. I only concentrated on the womens clothing but they seemed to have something for every occasion including our christmas party. I bought a very nice little black dress and a pair of heeled black satiny shoes along with the underwear to go under the dress - all for under £80 - what a bargain! Last year I paid £60 for the dress alone. I was also tempted by the selection of suits they had on sale. I am what you would call 'petite' and usually buy things out of the kids section because adult clothing is usually a little too long. I was amazed to try on a nicely tailored brown suit and find it fitted me perfectly! The best bit is it was half price. So for just under £100 I managed to kit myself out for the party (and others where they won't have seen the dress before!) and also have 2 new work outfits.
The range of sizes is really excellent too - too many shops these days have racks and racks of the same thing in the same size - the staff are really helpful too and if there is something that isn't on the shelf then they will go look to see if they have it in stock.
Summary: I will definitely be visiting again before long - but not until after payday methinks!

- 03/01/07 Im sure that I bought a back pack from George a few years ago and it lasted a lot longer than a Nike branded one from Argos. A fair compact review here but could do with a bit more as to the type of products George at ASDA sells. |
