Advantages: the wide range of items, and there cheap too
Disadvantages: the popular sizes getting snapped up
George @ Asda, is the clothing line for the major supermarket Asda. They do clothing for everyone from babies, children, men and woman, and there prices are really affordable but at the same time the clothing is good quallty for the price.
I do my main weekly shop at asda, and my local store has just been renovated and now has a second floor, which is dedicated to George clothing and homeware.
I first discovered George clothing around 5-6 years and some of the items i brought back then i still wear today, as they have lasted so well.
Supermarkets having clothing departments in the stores i think are a great idea! as i can never resist the urge to walk upstairs and have a browse and maybe pick up one or two items.
Nowadays i mainly use asda for my children because the clothes are so cheap, yet good quality and they have such a big selection to chose from.
They stock character clothing and accessories like Peppa pig, Disney, bob the builder, fifi, in the night garden and Thomas. At all lower prices than other retailers. I have picked up complete outfits for my daughters for about £10 each, and twin packs of tops for £4.00, 5 pairs of tights for £3.50, Pairs of jeans for £3.00
They change there stock every couple of months so you don't get bored with the same things, and they change according to season, and they stock up well in advance to give you chance to buy something each week.
I like the womens collection because again there so cheap, some items can be of good quality, but there are one or two items that you find can be tatty, last winter i picked up a coat for £10, and wollen knit tops for £7.00, i like the summer clothing too because you can get vests, shorts, skirts, flip-flops etc, ranging from £1 upwards- handy to stock up if your going on holiday.
I buy a lot of my partners clothing from here because i find there such a generous fit, i pick up slogan t-shirts for £4.00, jeans for £8.00, and jumpers for around £5.00, they wash well, and never shrink.
The only little niggles i have that, some times sizes can be wrong and up have to get the next size up, i find this mainly on womens and children's clothing, so it's best to try them on before buying, or keep the receipt. Another thing is if they do have a good line of clothing come into the store, it's best to get there quick as all the good sizes soon disappear, and they don't tend to have delivery's that often.
Other than that i can't fault the shop, they have such a big variety that i tend to buy something each week, The clothing is easily accessible, and each section is clearly marked, and the aisles are made big enough to get down with trolleys. The customer service side is excellent too and they will do there best to help you with anything and will check to see if there certain items out the back if you can't see them on the shop floor.
And best of all theres always service with a smile :)
Summary: George- always putting a smile on your face

- 09/11/08 We've got lovely clothes for our boy. Unfortunately, like in any other clothes department, there's more stuff available for girls. |
