Advantages: Good quality, good value
Disadvantages: None
George is the clothing department of major supermarket chain Asda, as other people have mentioned in their reviews I also find George to be an absolute godsend.
I have only visited the Blackburn branch on the Lower Audley retail park, therefore my review is based on this store. The first thing I would say is because it is based within Asda it is extremely convienient to look around when doing your normal weekly shopping, however I do find I buy things which I dont need because there are so many good value bargains to be had.
George is comprised of different sections to suit everyone. They have a womens, mens, childrens and baby sections.
****Womens****
The womens section is packed full of items for any occassion, there are suits, blouses, shirts, real cashmere jumpers (£25!), underwear, nightwear, bags, shoes, going out wear, casual, watches, jewellery and hair accessories. I tend to buy the casual wear and underwear. I love the underwear range by Katie Price AKA Jordan which caters for larger cup sizes and the tracksuit bottoms for only £4 great for wearing around the house. Also with the run up to christmas George has been featured on many day time shows because of there amazing range of dresses for the party season, the most famous being the little black dress with the diamante detail on the straps, for only £12! what a bargain!
****Mens****
The mens section is significantly smaller than the womens section, however it does serve its purpose, you could easily pick up what you need. They have a selection of reasonably priced suits, shirts and ties aswell as casual wear. The majority of the time I do buy OH's slippers and underwear from George as they are good quality and reasonably priced.
****Children and Baby****
I have a 3 year old son and from the time I was pregnant I have bought alot of his clothes from George.
For babies they have a great range of vests and sleep suits, I recommend the plain white sleep suits which come in a pack of 3 for about £4. They also do a great range of outfits which are ideal for gifts, aswell as Georges own brand clothes for babies they have a gorgeous selection of Disney clothes.
For children they have lots of choice of t-shirts, jumpers, shirts, jeans the list is endless. Most recently I have purchased my son a really modern style shirt for only £3! I regulary buy the multipacks of long sleeve tops, which come in either packs of 2 or 3 and range between £4 and £6 depending on the design. I also like the range of branded clothes which include Mr Men, Ben 10 and Bob the Builder. Other things I buy from George, PJ's and underwear. I find the range of school wear to be exceptional value, 2 white polo shirts £2 and grey school trousers from £3.
I would highly recommend George if you want good quality items at reasonable prices. Even after washing a few times the items I have still look as new.
***edit*** one thing I did forget to mention is George do baby sleeping bags, they are really similar to the expensive Growbag brand, but from what I can remember they are only about £6 as opposed to the growbags which can be up to £30! THe sleeping bag was great when my little lad was a baby as he was forever kicking his covers off.
Summary: Great for clothes shopping for all the familly!
