Advantages: great prices, great range, babywear is especially good.

Disadvantages: uncomfortable shopping experience, everyone ends up with the same stuff, jewelry section sucks.

George at Asda gets a really bad press for being cheap and nasty, owing to its obvious associations with a budget supermarket. Nonetheless it boasts a pretty wide variety of damn good clothes. Its range of casual wear, underwear, beachwear, formal wear, coats, shoes and pyjamas is nothing short of superb, especially because of the outstanding prices therein. Its babywear is known to be especially good so this is a good choice for mothers.

It also has a semi-decent jewelry range, but most of the stock in this section IS very tacky, so is probably best avoided, mostly gaudy gold adornments and obnoxious childish items, nothing really any good.

The shopping experience itself is a strange hybrid of grocery shopping and fashion shopping, is generally quite an awkward and uncomfortable one, but Asda still manages to offer some very nice, comfortable and well-sized unisex changing rooms which are far more pleasant than that of such shopping giants as Primark, New Look and Matalan. This is undeniably quite a feat.

Overall this is a lovely little addition to Asda and not at all a cheap warehouse sale. There's lots of nice little things you'll see here, very reasonably priced. The only problem with the clothing stock I can think of is that everyone ends up wearing the same stuff! But I suppose you can expect this of a shopping giant like Asda. Either way, I definitely recommend George at Asda.
