      A great budget buy

This is a review of a two pack of shorts that I bought for my daughter from George at Asda recently. With all the good weather we were having I thought I'd better introduce a few more summery clothes to her wardrobe and of course that then broke the spell of sunshine and the rain fell down!

      Sizing
Still, these shorts were a great price and I went for the next size up to try and get plenty of wear from them. She is tall for her age so I find myself going for 2-3 sizes even though she is just 18 months at the moment.

      Description
The shorts come in a two pack (I thought it was misleading to describe them as a pair of shorts!) and you get one patterned pair and one plain. They come in several different designs but for the purpose of this review I am covering the pink and white and flowered shorts. Each pair has a little pocket on the hips and a fake bow on the front (not a drawstring). The edges of the legs and pockets are finished off with a little frill and the backs are plain with no pockets.

      Material
The shorts are made from 100% cotton that feels like a thin jersey material to me. Because of this they wash really well and any stains I tackle with a bit of vanish. You can iron the shorts but I find if they are hung to dry in a good position, you can skip the ironing stage.

      My thoughts
These shorts are a great addition to our little one's wardrobe. They are nice and versatile and go well with sandals or trainers. I would certainly consider purchasing further shorts from this range in the future. They are comfortable on my daughter and she can play without fear of ruining her clothes etc especially when in the garden or in messy play.

      Price and availability
For two pairs, these shorts cost only £4 so I think that is a great price. If you look on the ASDA website you can see all the patterns and colours available in the same design. We will get lots of wear out of these over the coming months and I would say they were a must have if you are going anywhere nice this summer with a little one.

      Final word
I am pleased with my purchase, but it's a shame the sun has gone in for now! These make a nice change from the more fashion shorts we have for our daughter in denim or velvet etc and these are comfortable and flexible for playing in. Obviously we use a high factor sun cream on our daughter when she is outside and there is skin on show to prevent burning but I really do think these shorts are great for the hotter weather.
