“ Brand: George / Type: Trousers „
Firstly I'd just like to say I have no idea where the picture for these is, it was definitely included in my suggestion but as these are fairly standard trousers I'll do my best to describe them to you. At the time of purchase I paid £10 a pair for these and started off with just the one pair but liked them so much I bought another 2 pairs.
I quite like linen as a material but I always think it creases really badly and can look awful once that's happened. I'm not a fan of ironing so I don't want to be ironing regularly if I can help it so I wasn't sure about these trousers to begin with. Another issue I have with items in the George range is some are brilliant and also good value for money and others are awful and a waste of money so it can be a bit hit and miss when ordering online as I have to do. These linen mix trousers are 55% linen and 45% cotton so not completely crease prone linen and fully machine washable. The trousers have a fairly wide leg that remains the same width all the way to your ankles, 2 shallow pockets on the back with a button and 2 deep pockets at the front that are great for stuffing your hands into when wandering around. The waist has a button and a drawstring for extra tightness and a zip fly.
I found the sizing on these trousers perfect and the length is also good as they are just a little bit too long for my 5 foot 4 inch frame in bare feet but ideal when I wear shoes with a low heel as I tend to. The wide leg is a very flattering look and makes legs look longer and slimmer which is always a bonus! The drawstring at the waist is something I sometimes need to keep the trousers in place so I'm glad that's included in the design of these and the deep pockets at the front are so comfortable to put my hands in I can't resist them.
I've never ironed these once (gasp!) and can say they are absolutely fine if you wash them then hang them up to dry so the creases fall out but even if I've worn them more than once in between washes I find the few creases they retain don't look bad at all so they're very good from that angle too. The material is prone to being a bit boardy and does work better with fabric conditioner in the wash but it's still comfortable and cool in the summer.
I wore these all last summer and they've got no signs of wear yet and this summer they've been out a few times already when it's been warm enough to enjoy the breeze and I doubt they will wear out this year either. As I said at the start I actually have 3 pairs of these in the black they came in and they haven't faded, frayed or become old looking at all. I actually love these trousers because they can be dressed up or down and go with practically anything, they didn't cost me much yet look like they are 100% linen when they're not and the design makes them very flattering and yet comfortable to wear.
A full 5 star rating from me for these and I hope my pairs last me a few more years yet.
